TU Braunschweig commemorated the victims of National Socialism with a joint minute of silence and wreath-laying ceremony in front of the old building at 9:45 today. A report will be published in the magazine and on social media.
►TU Braunschweig stands for Democracy, Rule of Law, and Freedom
“We decisively and explicitly position ourselves against any form of racism, intolerance, and exclusion. Dehumanization has no place at TU Braunschweig”, declares the statement from the university’s Executive Board, adopted against the backdrop of recent societal developments.
► Dialogue Formats of the President
The President invites members of TU Braunschweig to join dialogue formats for exchange: The Campus Hour will take place on 31January at 14:00 as part of the Community Café in the Old Building of the University. Registration for the next Office Hour on 9 February is still open until 31 January.
► Tracing Henri Bergson in Paris
Congratulations to Dr Tobias Endres from the Institute of Philosophy! He has been awarded the coveted Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship for Postdocs by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Dr Endres will spend two years in Paris researching the philosophy of Nobel laureate Henri Bergson.
► Pilot funding for impact projects
Four impact projects by early career researchers are now being funded by the Knowledge Transfer of the Transfer and Cooperation Centre. They will be given the opportunity to explore what engagement with non-university communities can look like.
► “The price of health …
High drug prices, legal regulation and justice” will be discussed by Dr Simone Johner, Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care, and Jörg Schaaber, BUKO Pharma Campaign, on 1 February as part of the interdisciplinary event series “Zukunftsfragen – kontrovers”.
► Information for Examiners on Trans* Students
In examination situations, students may be required to present their identity card with an additional document. The Diversity Office provides information and advice.
► Online-Workshop “Diversity in Teaching”
What can be done to create a diversity-friendly learning environment? Ines Köhler, Manager for Gender and Diversity at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, will provide practical suggestions. Registration for the online workshop on 16 February is now open.
► Change! Fellowships and Research Groups
The Volkswagen Foundation’s fellowship programme is aimed at academics who have completed their doctorate at least two years ago and are conducting research on transformation processes. Non-academic stakeholders, such as civil society networks and associations, must be involved in the research process.
► Musical darling of the week
“We’ll be Bach” is the motto of the TU Choir’s two end-of-semester concerts inspired by the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. The choir invites you to the Andreaskirche on 28 January and to the Audimax on 30 January. We are looking forward to it!
