► Unique drone test field launched in Braunschweig

With FLYBOTS, our university and the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) are setting new standards in drone research. The combination of an electromagnetically shielded wind tunnel, drone cage and mobile detection unit enables realistic and safe testing – an infrastructure that is unique in Germany. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of DLR, Minister for Economic Affairs Grant Hendrik Tonne and TU President Prof. Angela Ittel.

► Launch of the AI Real-World Laboratory for Agriculture

Using artificial intelligence to make agriculture more productive, sustainable and possibly also more cost-effective: that is the goal of the project partners in the AI Real-World Laboratory for Agriculture. The Institute of Mobile Machines and Commercial Vehicles is also involved.

► Personalised therapy for depression: P4D study on ZDF

The P4D research project, in which the Instituts for Data Science in Biomedicine is participating, is investigating how depression treatment can be tailored more effectively to individual patients. The study was recently featured in a ZDF report.

► “Travelling light”: Introducing the teams

For “lighter baggage” in everyday university life: Each week of the seven-week test phase, we will introduce one or two teams from the transformation project. We are starting with “Retaining staff”: a process designed to make dealing with ongoing and completed projects easier and more sustainable. “Recruitment & hiring processes” will test, among other things, suggested wording for scientific job descriptions. Inaugural lecture

Prof. Bastian Kindermann, Institute for Automotive Management and Industrial Production, will hold his inaugural lecture “Theorien des Neuen: Entrepreneurship zwischen Denken und Machen on 29 October.

Gesundheitswoche

Wellbeing@work&study”  is the motto for this year’s Health Week once again. From 10 to 14 November, visitors can enjoy an exciting programme covering health, exercise, and holistic wellbeing.

IT-Security Awareness Days

From 3 to 14 November, interested parties will once again have the opportunity to learn more about IT security at the IT Security Awareness Days. This digital lecture series will cover topics such as home office security and phishing.

► Semester programme for prospective students

The Academic Advice Service is offering a new programme of events for prospective students. As well as events for motivated school pupils, there will be events for parents on 24 and 28 November.

► Fulbright Germany Scholarships for Junior researchers

Junior researchers can apply for a doctoral scholarship at Fulbright Germany until 05 November. Funding is available for four- to six-month research projects at a U.S. university or research institution to be started between 01 August 2025 and 31 December 2026.
