► Staff meeting on 9 October

At the next staff meeting on 9 October, employees will learn about the latest developments in parking space management and mobile working. If you have any suggestions for other topics you would like to see covered, please send them by email. The meeting will start at 9 a.m. and, as always, will count as working time. New this time: It will take place in lecture hall SN 19.1 (old building). 

► TU Braunschweig on top with third-party funding

According to a recent evaluation by the Federal Statistical Office, our university ranks at the top in Germany in terms of third-party funding acquired in 2023. With an average of €588,800 per professor, TU Braunschweig ranks ninth among German universities.

► Bright Future for Solar System School

The Solar System School, the joint graduate school of the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research, the University of Göttingen, and TU Braunschweig, is now a permanent fixture in doctoral training in Göttingen and Braunschweig. Every year, around 200 students from all over the world apply for one of the coveted places. 

► Mathematics builds bridges to Cameroon

Five of our university’s scientists organised a two-week summer school in Douala, Cameroon’s largest city, for students and doctoral candidates from Cameroon and other Central African countries. The focus was on applying modern mathematical tools to mechanics.

► A breath of fresh air for our university

The central reception for first-year students at the Eintracht Stadium is just around the corner: On 20 October, a varied and international programme will be on offer again from 9 a.m. onwards. Afterwards, institutes, faculties, student initiatives and regional companies will present themselves at the “Studying is more…” information fair. Welcome Week for new international students starts a week earlier.

► German Plant Protection Conference: Taking a systematic approach to plant protection

From 7 to 10 October, phytomedicine and plant protection will be discussed at our university. The German Plant Protection Conference is the largest event of its kind in Europe for specialists in this field, and it takes place every two years in a different federal state. 

► Remaining places for Kinder-Uni

This year’s Kinder-Uni on the topic of Recycling begins on 25 October. Registration is still open for children aged between 8 and 12 – but be quick!

… is giving us a day off tomorrow! German Unity Day marks the 35th anniversary of German reunification, sending a powerful message about democracy and solidarity.
