Visual Analytics in Public Health 27.04.2018 | 15:00 Uhr - 16:30 Uhr
Public Health activities are based on large amounts of dynamic health-related data. As an example, cohort studies involve thousands of participants and comprise several thousand variables per patient.
Epidemiologists are interested in understanding correlations and causal effects among life -style related factors, health disorders and diseases. Visual analytics may support the epidemiological analysis by providing overview visualizations, determination of subgroups, regression analysis and appropriate visualization of corresponding results.
The talk will give an overview on a long-term collaboration between epidemiologists from the University Greifswald who prepared the SHiP data and the University of Magdeburg related to back pain and other health disorders.
