Whether they are civil engineering designers, sports and fitness management specialists or microtechnologists: Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig not only offers more than 90 degree programmes, but also numerous apprenticeship schemes. A total of 25 new entrants to the workforce have now begun their apprenticeships in twelve different trades. This makes TU Braunschweig one of the largest training institutions in the region. The university is also once again offering training in German Sign Language.<\/p>\n

An apprenticeship at a university? For 25 new apprentices and dual-study students, this is precisely the path they will be embarking on at TU Braunschweig at the start of August. Over the coming years, they will gain an insight into a wide variety of professions at research institutes, in the administration, at the Gauss IT Centre or at the University Sports Centre. With a total of 83 apprentices, TU Braunschweig is one of the largest training providers in the region.<\/p>\n

Before embarking on their working lives, the induction days on 3 and 4 August gave the new recruits the opportunity to get to know the university better as an employer. \u201cThe start of the apprenticeship is a special milestone, and we are proud to support these young people on their journey over the coming years and to lay the foundations for their professional future together,\u201d emphasise apprenticeship coordinators Christin Jonscher and Laura Proboll.<\/p>\n

About the apprenticeship programme at TU Braunschweig<\/h3>\n

TU Braunschweig is renowned for excellence in traditional apprenticeship programmes. In particular, graduates of the apprenticeship programme at the Institute of Microtechnology have repeatedly been recognised as the best in their year at state or national level.<\/p>\n

Apprenticeships at TU Braunschweig are accessible to all. For example, training at the Institute of Steel Structures<\/a> is delivered in German Sign Language. Trainer Nils Neppe is supporting two hearing-impaired apprentices on their path to becoming precision mechanics. Sina H\u00fcbner is also starting her apprenticeship as a precision mechanic. \u201cMy entire immediate family has worked at TU Braunschweig, or still works here. It\u2019s from them that I know the university is a really good place for an apprenticeship,\u201d she says, explaining her choice. Leona Nelz, a trainee administrative assistant, adds: \u201cDuring the induction days, I was particularly struck by how diverse TU Braunschweig is and how well it caters for its apprentices and students.\u201d<\/p>\n

In total, TU Braunschweig recruited apprentices across twelve different trades in 2026: building materials testers, structural design engineers, dual-study programme in computer science, IT specialists, precision mechanics, industrial mechanics, office management assistants, mathematical-technical software developers, microtechnologists, sports and fitness management assistants, event management assistants, and administrative assistants.<\/p>\n
