Around 200 students from the Bachelor\u2019s degree programmes in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Information Systems Engineering and Mathematics at Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig will present their work at the \u2018Young Software Developers\u2019 Day\u2019 on<\/p>\n
Thursday, 16 July 2026, from 1 pm to 4.30 pm<\/strong> the results of this year\u2019s software development placement and warmly invite school pupils and technology enthusiasts to attend. A jury comprising experts from academia, the student body and industry will assess the projects and award prizes to the three best teams.<\/p>\n Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n 1 pm\u00a0 Welcome by Prof. Dr. Thomas Th\u00fcm, Institute for Software Engineering and Vehicle Informatics<\/p>\n until 4.30 pm\u00a0 Presentation of the projects by the students<\/p>\n approx. 5.15 pm\u00a0 Awards ceremony in Lecture Theatre PK 4.7<\/p>\n Following the welcome at 1 pm, representatives from the media are invited to take part in a guided tour<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Once again this year, students were able to choose from a wide range of projects focusing on virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and machine learning. Amongst other things, one project involved developing memory aids for people with ADHD in the form of a virtual memory palace. Another team used augmented reality to display the positions of cables and pipes in cars. This enables people to be rescued more safely from crashed vehicles. Other teams combined 3D printing and machine learning to create small, printed models of houses from building plans. Two teams also analysed the effects of echo chambers on social media, and these can now be tested through self-experiments.<\/p>\n As part of this year\u2019s software development placement, around 200 students from eleven institutes worked on 33 projects, learning practical skills in the development of complex software systems. They were supported by their respective institutes throughout the process, from planning and development right through to the completion of the products.
