Our lives are but a shadow, yet our clocks would remain accurate even after millions of years. On 13 June, the Audimax at the Technical University of Braunschweig will explore the different ways in which science and society perceive time. In the TIME concert and lecture series, researchers from the Cluster of Excellence QuantumFrontiers<\/a> will collaborate with the Young Chamber Choir of Braunschweig.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Hardly any other quantum physics technology has had as much influence on the field as high-precision clocks, which are literally everywhere in people’s everyday lives. Yet most people remain unaware of the highly precise research being conducted in laboratories in Braunschweig and Hannover. After all, counting in femtoseconds is irrelevant for everyday life – or is it? In keeping with the International Year of Quantum Physics and Technology, the researchers and singers will explore different perspectives on time. The programme combines short popular science lectures with a cappella pieces ranging from early Baroque to contemporary compositions.<\/p>\n

    The Young Chamber Choir Braunschweig<\/h3>\n

    Since its establishment in 2013, the Young Chamber Choir Braunschweig (JKC) has become one of the most renowned chamber choirs in the Hannover-Braunschweig-G\u00f6ttingen region. The ensemble comes together for three to five concert projects each year and has already achieved considerable success, including winning first prize at the German Choir Competition in 2023. While the JKC specialises in contemporary repertoire, its concert programmes are conceived more in terms of content than style. Audiences and critics alike appreciate the JKC’s impressive versatility and the emotional impact it brings to its concerts.<\/p>\n
