Sustainability and artificial intelligence are the focus of the two new Bachelor’s degree programmes and one English-language Master’s degree programme that will be launched at Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig in the 2024\/25 winter semester. Battery and Hydrogen Technology focuses on the special requirements and challenges of the battery and hydrogen industry. The MACS-Mathematics for Computational Science degree programme combines mathematics and computer science. The AIMS Artificial Intelligence for Molecular Science degree programme combines artificial intelligence and molecular science.<\/p>\n

Battery and hydrogen technology: becoming active as engineers for climate change<\/h3>\n

The Bachelor’s degree programme in Battery and Hydrogen Technology<\/a> at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is aimed at prospective students who are interested in renewable energy, climate protection and modern technology. Given the central importance of sustainable energy supply, the programme focuses on teaching the fundamentals and applications of battery and hydrogen energy storage technologies, as well as in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and applications. The programme opens up career paths in areas such as electromobility, energy and environmental technology and digitalisation. From the winter semester 2026\/27, an English-language research-oriented Master’s degree programme in Battery and Hydrogen Technology will be offered.<\/p>\n

Mathematics for Computational Science (MACS): Symbiosis of maths and computer science<\/strong><\/h3>\n

For prospective students who enjoy tricky problems and have an affinity for numbers, formulas and algorithms, the Bachelor’s degree programme in Mathematics for Computational Science<\/a> offers a computer-oriented education in mathematics. The free admission degree programme combines three pillars: training in the core mathematical disciplines, teaching algorithmic thinking and software development techniques as well as methods of artificial intelligence. As a third pillar, a minor subject can be chosen that deepens the areas of application of mathematics. The areas of application are wide-ranging, as mathematical algorithms and structured problem solving are needed everywhere. After completing the Bachelor’s degree programme, students have the option of pursuing a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science or Computational Sciences Engineering at TU Braunschweig.<\/p>\n

AIMS: molecular science meets AI<\/h3>\n

The English-language Master’s degree programme in Artificial Intelligence for Molecular Sciences<\/a> (AIMS) prepares students to work independently on complex scientific issues in the molecular sciences. From the prediction of molecular properties to the decoding of biochemical systems, AIMS offers a wide range of applications in areas such as catalysis, medicine, biosciences, materials science and energy conversion. By providing a broad grounding in applied mathematics and computer science as well as specialisation in an area of molecular science, graduates are qualified for future careers in research and development.<\/p>\n

Special admission requirements: Completed Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy or in a related subject as well as appropriate knowledge of the English language. The admission requirements and an appropriate selection procedure are regulated in a special admission regulation.<\/p>\n
