Workshops, yoga and musical beats – visitors can expect a colourful programme at the TUmorrow Days 2023. From 13 to 15 June, the sustainability action days will take place for the second time on the TU campus. The aim of the event is to make environmental protection and sustainability tangible. After the success of last year’s first edition, the TUmorrow Days have been extended by one day. In addition to students and TU members, anyone interested is also cordially invited to take part in the TUmorrow Days and experience highlights such as the Science Slam or the Market of Opportunities. As part of the TUmorrow Days, the ClimateCrisisClock will be unveiled at the Forum building on 15 June.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After launching in 2022, the TUmorrow Days will take place for the second time at Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig. Once again, those interested can choose from a diverse programme of workshops, lectures and educational opportunities to learn about sustainability and climate protection. But fun and entertainment will not be neglected either. In cooperation with the Haus der Wissenschaft Braunschweig, a Science Slam will once again take place in the Audimax. In addition, the TUmorrow Beats invite you to end the first day of the event with downtempo and house music from the solar-powered sound system. “We are very proud to have put together a colourful programme,” says Sira M\u00f6ller, coordinator of the Green Office, which organised TUmorrow Days 2023.<\/p>\n

This mixture of educational and entertainment offers already met with an excellent response from the audience last year. The good feedback now means that the TUmorrow Days will take place over three days instead of two, as was the case last year. “To enable even more people to take part in the events, we have extended the duration of the programme,” says M\u00f6ller.<\/p>\n

Sustainability increasingly important<\/strong><\/p>\n

Prof. Manfred Krafczyk, Vice President for Digitalisation and Sustainability at TU Braunschweig, explains the great importance of sustainability at TU Braunschweig and why it is important to draw attention to this with the TUmorrow Days: “The Senate and Executive Board have anchored sustainability as a central element in all dimensions of action at TU Braunschweig in the strategic plans for 2030. The TUmorrow Days offer all TU members and affiliates, as well as the interested region, a diverse and entertaining opportunity to find out about a wide range of current topics related to sustainability, while also being entertained in a first-class manner. I am very much looking forward to lively and purposeful discussions on how we can move from ideas to constructive joint action together at TU and hopefully far beyond.”<\/p>\n

This great importance will also be evident at the TUmorrow Awards, the sustainability prize for student initiatives, theses and courses. Sira M\u00f6ller says: “What was a rather symbolic award ceremony last year will be really big this year. For this, we are cooperating with the Braunschweig Hochschulbund, which is providing prize money. We also made the decision on who gets the TUmorrow Awards in cooperation with a jury consisting of members from all TU status groups.”<\/p>\n

The climate clock is ticking<\/strong><\/p>\n

In future, environmental protection and sustainability will also be particularly visible at the TU Braunschweig Forum building. The first ClimateCrisisClock in the region will be unveiled here on 15 June. The climate clock shows in years, days, hours, minutes and seconds the remaining time we have to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. A detailed press release will be sent out separately.<\/p>\n
