Around 200 students from the Bachelor\u2019s degree programmes in Computer Science, Business Informatics and Information Systems Engineering at Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig presented the results of this year\u2019s Software Development Placement at the \u2018Young Software Developers\u2019 Day\u2019 (TdSE) on 16 July 2026. A jury comprising experts from academia, industry and the student body assessed the projects and awarded prizes to the three best teams.<\/p>\n
First place went to the team from the Institute of Artificial Intelligence for the project \u2018CoDex \u2013 Your Intelligent PDF Search Agent\u2019. In this project, the students implemented an AI tool for searching within PDF documents. Users could ask the tool questions on the topic in question, whereupon the AI generated answers that were directly accompanied by a cited reference.<\/p>\n
The Institute of Communications Engineering took second place with the project \u2018FindMe@Campus: AI-Driven Indoor Localisation Using Wi-Fi\u2019. The students in this group developed software that can determine a user\u2019s location within a building using various Wi-Fi signals. Among other things, the project has attracted considerable interest from the university administration and is now potentially set to be taken forward.<\/p>\n
Third place went to the Institute of Theoretical Computer Science with the project \u2018Gold Ship \u2013 Become the best at logic\u2019. The student team demonstrated how the concept of formal automata can be made easier to understand through a game.<\/p>\n
