The connection between Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig and its graduates does not end with the graduation ceremony. Quite the contrary: the Alumni & Career Service Centre<\/a> lays the foundations for a vibrant network that brings together knowledge, experience and perspectives across generations. On 18 June 2026, the university was awarded the \u2018Premium D-A-CH\u2019 Alumni Award 2026 by alumni-clubs.net (acn) in recognition of its successful, centrally organised alumni management. With this award, the association honours outstanding and innovative concepts in alumni work and their successful implementation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis award is a special recognition of the work carried out by our recently established, centrally organised alumni management team. I would like to offer my warmest congratulations to the entire team. In a short space of time, we have laid crucial foundations \u2013 the award confirms that we are on the right track and encourages us to continue working on this with great dedication,\u201d says TU President Professor Angela Ittel.<\/p>\n

alumni-clubs.net has been awarding the Alumni Prize since 2010, focusing on various thematic areas. The award recognises TU Braunschweig\u2019s concept for \u2018Internal strengthening of alumni management (lobbying) \u2013 implementation of a comprehensive university-wide strategy for internal alumni work\u2019. The prize, worth a total of 10,000 euros, was presented at the 30th acn conference at the University of Mannheim, with 8,000 euros of this going to Braunschweig. \u201cThe prize confirms what we have been experiencing every day since the start of our alumni management programme: our strategy behind the concept generates measurable added value for students, graduates and the entire university,\u201d says Henning Karsten, team leader for Relationship Management in the Transferservice department.<\/p>\n

TU Braunschweig impressed the jury with a clear, coherent strategic approach to coordinating and supporting all decentralised alumni associations and their activities through a central service centre, as well as with its clear objectives. According to the jury, this support ensures that all stakeholders are engaged, fostering a \u2018sense of community\u2019 at the university.<\/p>\n

The close links between the Career Service, fundraising and alumni management with other stakeholders such as faculties, the Braunschweig University Association and businesses are no coincidence, but the result of a consistent, long-term strategy. This holistic networking enables synergies, increases the university\u2019s visibility and strengthens a culture of mutual support.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe award gives us a boost and motivates us as a team to continue embedding alumni management within the university with dedication and expertise,\u201d says Henning Karsten. The prize money is to be reinvested specifically in alumni projects.<\/p>\n

Two further awards went to the Stuttgart Media University and Goethe University Frankfurt.<\/p>\n

alumni-clubs.net<\/a> is the DACH association of alumni organisations in the German-speaking region (D-A-CH). The association links alumni management \u2013 which is vital for maintaining relationships \u2013 with the fields of career services and fundraising, as well as marketing and communication. Currently, just under 300 alumni organisations are members of alumni-clubs.net.
