The university combines renewal with continuity in its newly elected Executive Board<\/a>: two new members of the Executive Board and a new portfolio set clear priorities. Prof. Markus Henke takes over the Research portfolio and is strengthening international cross-disciplinary initiatives. Prof. Stefanie Hartz is responsible for the new Teaching Innovation portfolio, promoting sustainable, modern teaching.<\/p>\n With its Code of Conduct<\/a>, TU Braunschweig is fostering respectful interaction. Seven guiding principles provide direction for study, work and cooperation \u2013 and create a reliable foundation for collaboration in academia, business and society.<\/p>\n This is possible in the Large Wave Current Flume shared by our university and Leibniz University Hannover. Researchers at the Leichtwei\u03b2 Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources are investigating the destructive force of extreme waves<\/a> on structures. For this purpose, the Institute of Flight Control also launched a tethered balloon equipped with extensive sensor technology to collect data on pressure, temperature, humidity and particle sizes.<\/p>\n On 22 April, Prof. Thomas K\u00fcrner (Institute of Communications Engineering) received the EurAAP Propagation Award<\/a> at the European Conference on Antennas and Propagation. He was honoured for his life\u2019s work, in particular his contributions to the modelling of millimetre-wave and terahertz propagation, as well as to international standardisation. Congratulations!<\/p>\n Together with his co-authors, Prof. Frederik M\u00f6ller<\/a> was awarded the \u201cPaul Gray Award for the Most Thought-Provoking Paper\u201d by the Communications of the Association for Information Systems. The prize is awarded annually to the journal\u2019s most discussed contribution. Congratulations!<\/p>\n The so-called \u201cSoulbrache\u201d on the Vering Canal in Hamburg\u2019s Wilhelmsburg district is the focus of designs developed by architecture students at the ISU \u2013 Institute for Sustainable Urbanism. Their work will be on display at the BDA Torhaus in Braunschweig from 28 to 30 April.<\/p>\n At the \u201cEU TalentOn<\/a>\u201d event in Brest, early-career researchers are developing solutions for the five EU missions: climate change adaptation, the fight against cancer, soil health, healthy water bodies and climate-neutral cities. Applications are open until 30 April..<\/p>\n \u2026 is the title of an exhibition<\/a> by the Institute of History, which will be on display in the Wissenschaftsschaufenster from 4 May. Alan J Ward and Jeffrey Knopf trace the origins of field post letters from the First World War, exploring the intersection of art, culture and archaeology, and private and public memory.<\/p>\n As part of \u201cGeDiMINT\u201d, Ver\u00f3nica Mota Galindo will give an online lecture on 7 May on critical-reflexive approaches to research and teaching. This will be followed by an in-person workshop in cooperation with the Georg Eckert Institute (registration required<\/a>).<\/p>\n On 7 and 8 May, a workshop will explore how multidirectional exchange with society can function and how knowledge can be communicated in a way that is tailored to specific target groups. The aim is to develop research-based impact projects, school-university programmes or impact-focused courses (registration via<\/a> Stud.IP<\/a>) .<\/p>\n Ransomware, phishing, AI and cyber security \u2013 from 27 April to 8 May, talks on the topic of IT security<\/a> will once again be offered by speakers from across Germany. As always, the talks will take place online; registration is not required.<\/p>\n The Central Staff Development team is once again inviting you to a digital lunch event<\/a>. The programme features topics relating to the (new) world of work. The series kicks off with the talk \u201cThe Pink Elephant \u2013 or simply a conflict\u201d on 6 May. The programme is aimed at staff, teaching staff and students.
