The purpose of the visit was to discuss joint research and teaching collaborations between the two universities.<\/p>\n<p>The Indian Institutes of Technology are India\u2019s leading universities for engineering and technology. Among them is IIT Indore, founded in 2009, which has been recognized as an \u201cInstitute of National Importance\u201d since 2016. With approximately 2,350 students and 205 staff members, IIT Indore covers a broad spectrum in research and teaching\u2014ranging from aerospace engineering to artificial intelligence and nanotechnology to renewable energy.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_81856\" style=\"width: 1210px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/magazin.tu-braunschweig.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/202604_besuch_iit_indore_fekete.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-81856\" class=\"wp-image-81856 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/magazin.tu-braunschweig.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/202604_besuch_iit_indore_fekete-1200x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-81856\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">During the visit, Prof. Suhas Joshi (right) presented Prof. S\u00e1ndor Fekete with a commemorative plaque. Picture credits: Institute of Operating Systems and Computer Networks\/TU Braunschweig<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In addition to IIT President Professor Suhas Joshi, the delegation included the Vice President for International Relations, Professor Prabhat Kumar Upadhyay; the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Abhishek Shrivastava; and Professor Bhargav Vaidya. Picture credits: PVZ\/TU Braunschweig<\/p><\/div>\n<p>After discussions with Professor S\u00e1ndor Fekete regarding the current state of cooperation between TU Braunschweig and its Indian partners, the guests visited the Braunschweig Integrated Centre for Systems Biology (BRICS). There, Professor Dieter Jahn provided them with a captivating insight into research activities and various laboratories. This was followed by a tour of the Center for Pharmaceutical Process Engineering (PVZ) featuring various presentations and discussions, in which among others Professor Carsten Schilde, Professor Iordana Konstantinou, and Dr. Emanuela Montefrancesco participated.<\/p>\n<p>The visit concluded with a tour of the Laboratory for Emerging Nanotechnologies (LENA). Discussions with Professor Andreas Waag, Professor Markus Henke, and Dr. Thorben Dammeyer focused on the activities of both universities in the field of quantum and nanotechnologies.<\/p>\n<p>Before the guests left the Lion City, they paid a visit to the statue of Carl Friedrich Gauss, one of Braunschweig\u2019s most famous citizens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe visit was very informative and inspiring!\u201d summarized Kumar Upadhyay. \u201cOverall, it was a very enriching and enlightening experience for us.
