\u25ba<\/strong> The legacy of leaded petrol<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Arctic Ocean absorbs a large proportion of the lead released into the environment by humans from the North Atlantic. This is the conclusion of a study conducted by the Department of Environmental Geochemistry<\/a> in collaboration with international partners and published in \u201cNature Communications\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u25ba<\/strong> Memories at risk<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Scientists at the Institute of Application Security investigated the security of web archives<\/a> by deliberately attacking them. They uncovered security vulnerabilities that allow archived web content to be falsified retrospectively.<\/p>\n

\u25ba<\/strong> Building blocks for successful teaching<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In a joint\u00a0 \u201cscience room\u201d<\/a> with the universities of Hildesheim and Hanover, researchers from the Institute of Education are investigating core teaching practices and how they are taught. Prospective teachers will acquire essential practical skills for their future careers in the planned seminars.<\/p>\n

\u25ba<\/strong> ReTraSON extended \u2013 TU Braunschweig involved<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The ReTraSON transformation network<\/a> will be funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy until the end of 2026. The Lower Saxony Research Centre for Vehicle Technology is involved with four institutes in developing a regional transformation strategy for the vehicle and supplier industry.<\/p>\n

\u25ba<\/strong> Strengthening the regional battery ecosystem in Braunschweig<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In November, stakeholders along the battery value chain came together. The aim is to raise awareness of regional expertise and promote new collaborations. The network event<\/a> was supported by the Ecoversity initiative.<\/p>\n

\u25ba<\/strong> Project launch KI<\/strong>3<\/sup><\/strong>nfrastructure: New perspectives for autonomous driving<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A consortium of research and industry is developing an AI-based, infrastructure-supported perception solution for autonomous mobility<\/a>. The aim is to eliminate blind spots and significantly increase the safety of autonomous vehicles in urban and rural areas. TU Braunschweig is providing scientific support.<\/p>\n

\u25ba<\/strong> Podcast: \u201cPer Anhalter durch den Cyberraum\u201d with TU guest<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The new episode<\/a> features Prof. Eduard Jorswieck from the Institute for Communications Technology. This time, the cyber security podcast focuses on new communication technologies, including the planned 6G mobile communications standard.<\/p>\n

\u25ba<\/strong> Kinder Uni: Learning with video lectures<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Between October and November, junior students aged eight to twelve had the opportunity to learn about art, waste and wastewater, as well as battery recycling. These lectures are now available to watch on demand as videos<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba<\/strong> Exhibition: \u201cHelmstedter Revier\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The results of the \u201cTransformation Helmstedter Revier \u2013 from lignite mining area to green energy landscape\u201d\u2019 ideas competition will be on display in the Architecture Pavilion from 8 January. The Regionalverband Gro\u00dfraum Braunschweig and the Institute of Landscape Architecture cordially invite you to the opening event<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Simulating development processes through play<\/strong><\/h3>\n

…was what 139 students at the Institute of Software Engineering and Automotive Informatics were able to do last Thursday as part of the 2nd Braunschweig Lego Scrum<\/a>. Taking into account changing customer requirements, they built a Lego city on the plaza in the Computer Science Centre.<\/p>\n

Delijan Seeleke’s\u00a0 performance at our Institute of Microtechnology was so impressive that he was not only the best in his year at the Lower Saxony Chamber of Commerce and Industry, but also the best nationwide<\/a>. He shares first place with a colleague from Garbsen. Congratulations!<\/p>\n

\u25ba Taiwan-German Call for Joint Research Projects<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The joint call for proposals<\/a> from the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) is open to researchers in the Engineering, the Humanities and the Social Sciences. Applications can be submitted until 25 February.<\/p>\n
