Could electronics function using particles other than electrons? As part of the QuantumFrontiers Cluster of Excellence, Professor Oleksandr Dobrovolskiy is researching an alternative based on magnons. Yesterday, he published <\/span>record-breaking findings on these particles\u2019 fundamentals<\/span><\/a> in the journal Nature Nanotechnology.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Secure automation: Working together for the agricultural technology of the future<\/b><\/h3>\n

Secure, legal and practical automation of agricultural machinery: This is the focus of an <\/span>interdisciplinary joint project<\/span><\/a> involving researchers from Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences, TU Braunschweig and TU Clausthal. Together with industry partners, they are creating a development guideline that can be used throughout Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25baA\u00a0 visit from Canada<\/b><\/h3>\n

TU Braunschweig and Western University in London, Ontario, are<\/span> expanding their collaboration<\/span><\/a> in the field of battery and hydrogen technologies. The Institute for Particle Technology (iPAT) and Western University have been working together for years and now both universities have further strengthened their partnership with an official cooperation agreement. Among other things, a student exchange programme is also planned.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba 22 ideas for \u201cTravelling light\u201d<\/b><\/h3>\n

In May, more than 50 employees led by Dietmar Smyrek embarked on a mission to simplify everyday life at the university. At the i<\/span>nterim event<\/span><\/a> of the internal TU project \u201cTravelling light\u201d, nine teams presented 22 prototypes. A 7-week testing phase will now begin to determine which ideas offer the greatest potential for practical application.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Invitation to the TU Teaching Award Ceremony 2025<\/b><\/h3>\n

This is the second year that students have had the opportunity to nominate outstanding courses from the last two semesters for the <\/span>TU Teaching Award<\/span><\/a>. The 2025 winners will be announced at the ceremony on 27 October. The event will begin at 18:30 in the auditorium of the Haus der Wissenschaft. We look forward to seeing you there!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba TU for Future: hybrid lecture series on the climate crisis<\/b><\/h3>\n

Next week marks the start of the 25\/26 winter semester \u2013 and with it the hybrid lecture series<\/span> \u2018TU for Future\u2019<\/span><\/a>. Every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., current research and sustainable solutions to the climate crisis will be examined from various perspectives. Anyone interested can register via StudIP.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Knowledge Nugget #10: Thinking in stories \u2013 storytelling with <\/b>Scenes<\/i><\/b> as a teaching strategy<\/b><\/h3>\n

What stories do teachers tell, consciously or unconsciously? On<\/span> 28 October<\/span><\/a>, Sarah Zerwas will show how she uses storytelling in combination with the <\/span>Scenes<\/span><\/i> tool to make her courses more lively \u2013 and to engage students.<\/span><\/p>\n

On 12 November, President Prof. Angela Ittel invites you to a<\/span> welcome meeting<\/span><\/a> with the presentation of baby bags. All parents who had a baby at TU last year or who were unable to attend the last meeting are invited. Please register by 1 November by <\/span>email<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Joint company outing for the central administration<\/b><\/h3>\n

The central administration went on its first<\/span> joint outing<\/span><\/a> since the coronavirus pandemic on 7 October in Wolfenb\u00fcttel. 115 employees from 24 organisational units took the opportunity to network and promote exchange.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2026<\/span> can hardly wait to start their studies next week \u2013 even though they are still attending school! <\/span>Alina Schindler and Ellen Stupar<\/span><\/a> are two of ten young people who are getting their first taste of university life as part of an early study programme.
