At the <\/span>launch event<\/span><\/a> on 6 October, partners from the worlds of research, industry and politics came together. In the coming years, a newly established international advisory board comprising experts from Germany and abroad will provide strategic support for the initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n Parking pressure is increasing, with more and more of our university\u2019s spaces being used by people who don\u2019t work at TU Braunschweig. To counteract this, a new <\/span>parking management system<\/span><\/a> will be introduced in 2026. The monthly parking fee will be \u20ac10 for all TU members. Information on registration will be published on the <\/span>website<\/span><\/a> in good time.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cGood mathematics either proves a groundbreaking new result or helps to solve real-world problems \u2013 ideally both,\u201d says Prof. Christian Kirches from the Institute of Mathematical Optimisation. TU Braunschweig, Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences and the economic development agencies of Braunschweig, Salzgitter and Gifhorn are joining forces to promote knowledge and technology transfer in the region. Innovation scouts will identify potential in SMEs and initiate innovations.<\/span><\/p>\n Researchers at TU Braunschweig and Forschungszentrum J\u00fclich are conducting a pilot study to investigate <\/span>how drought affects root growth<\/span><\/a>. In the MRI laboratory, small black locust trees were placed in special containers so that their development in the soil could be visualised using imaging techniques.<\/span><\/p>\n On 16 and 17 October, the Urban Climate Future Lab (UCFL) will welcome its international scientific advisory board to <\/span>UCFL Days<\/span><\/a> at our university. On the evening of 16 October, the Lab will be hosting a public lecture by Prof. Philippa Tumubweine from the African Centre for Cities in Cape Town, titled \u201cAn unstoppable force: African Urbanisation\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>\u201cWater Security and Climate Change Conference\u201d<\/span><\/a> will bring together experts from the fields of science, politics and society in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. As a long-standing partner, the Leichtwei\u03b2 Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources is once again providing support, focusing on the early detection of water extremes, impact assessments, and the strengthening of social resilience.<\/span><\/p>\n From 17 to 19 September, Delft hosted a conference addressing the challenge of sustainable air transport in an increasingly globalised world. The <\/span>conference<\/span><\/a>, which was jointly organised byTU Braunschweig and TU Delft, brought together 150 researchers from leading aerospace communities under the motto \u201cFuture Cooperation\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n Another <\/span>joint call for proposals<\/span><\/a> will be issued next year by the French Agence Nationale de la Recherche and the German Research Foundation. Funding will be provided for projects in the Natural, Life, and Engineering Sciences.
