Colourful, diverse, international \u2013 for the 13th time, Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig is welcoming its new students in style. On Monday, 20 October 2025, at 9 a.m., all first-year students will celebrate the start of their first winter semester together at Eintracht Stadium. The event will be moderated in two languages and opened with a traditional welcome by President Angela Ittel. This will be followed by the \u2018Studying is more \u2026\u2019 information fair on the central campus. For international students, there will also be a Welcome Week, which starts on 13 October.<\/p>\n

Programme<\/h3>\n

  • Welcome by international students and moderation team with student Jonathan King and alumna Eileen Pollex<\/li>\n
  • Greetings from President Prof. Angela Ittel, Vice-President for Studies and Teaching Prof. Knut Baumann, Mayor Thorsten Kornblum and the AStA Executive Committee<\/li>\n
  • Braunschweig quiz with Eintracht President Nicole Kumpis<\/li>\n
  • Aerial silk show by the university sports club with Paula Clasen and Pascal Issa<\/li>\n
  • Music: AKA brass and Chinese flute music by student Ye Yufan<\/li>\n
  • Science Slam: Lama Drama in the Lab \u2013 Fighting cancer and COVID with alpaca nanobodies, Jenniffer Pierick, Institute for Particle Technology<\/li>\n
  • Admission at 8:30 a.m., entrance on Hamburger Stra\u00dfe (west stand)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Information fair \u2018Studying is more …\u2019 invites first-year students to browse<\/h3>\n

    The event continues at 10:30 a.m. on the central campus: more than 50 information stands show what TU Braunschweig has to offer besides studying. From institutes and faculties to advisory services and student initiatives \u2013 first-year students can not only find out more, but also make their first contacts. New this year are companies from the region, which will be showing first-year students and anyone else interested opportunities for internships, working student positions and career paths after graduation.<\/p>\n

    Welcome Week for international students<\/h3>\n

    For new international students, Welcome Week kicks off on 13 October \u2013 an excellent opportunity to get to know the university and the city and make new friends. During this week, students can expect a varied programme, including campus tours, workshops, information events on study-related topics and numerous get-to-know-you events. In addition, international initiatives such as the Indian Student Community and the Association of Chinese Scientists and Students will introduce themselves. A special highlight is the first-year excursion to the car city of Wolfsburg. The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Braunschweig provides plenty of entertainment with many other events and promotes networking among international students. The programme is organised by International Student Support in cooperation with other teams from the International House, institutions at TU Braunschweig and student initiatives.<\/p>\n

    Getting to the Eintracht Stadium<\/h3>\n

    If you want to take public transport to the stadium, you can take tram lines 1 and 2. They run from the main station via the city centre to the Eintracht Stadium. Due to construction work, the trams do not depart as usual from platform C on the main station forecourt, but from platform H (opposite the steam locomotive). Line 1 stops directly at the stadium (Stadion stop, towards Wenden). Line 2 stops near the stadium (Gesundheitsamt stop, towards Siegfriedviertel). Additional services will be provided on both lines from the main station to the stadium and from the stadium to the town hall after the event.<\/p>\n

    Please leave for the stadium on time, as public transport to the stadium is likely to be very crowded. If you live nearby, it is best to come by bicycle or on foot. And another tip: the stadium is not heated, so don’t forget to wear warm clothing!<\/p>\n

    The event will be accompanied by sign language interpreters and is accessible to all.<\/p>\n
