Feel free to drop by!<\/span><\/p>\n The first summer school<\/span><\/a> on the \u201cautomotive circular economy\u201d took place at Campus Wolfsburg this week. Students from a variety of disciplines joined forces to develop ideas for more sustainable automotive production.<\/span><\/p>\n The COIN project, which is coordinated by the <\/span>Leichtwei\u03b2-Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources<\/span><\/a> and funded with \u20ac4 million from the Horizon Europe programme, will officially launch on 1 November. Nine leading organisations from across Europe are collaborating on innovative solutions to enhance the design of future wave power plants.<\/span><\/p>\n Our university has provided the GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geoscience with a special drilling rig, the <\/span>HiPerCoRig (High-Performance Coring Rig)<\/span><\/a>, on permanent loan. This sea drilling system can extract drill cores from depths of up to 200 metres.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u2026 to <\/span>Prof. Fahim Mohammadi<\/span><\/a>! Since 1 September 2025, he has headed the new Institute for Methodologies of Design and Representation. Prior to joining our university, he was Full Professor of Design Foundations and Experimental Design at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden K\u00fcnste Stuttgart. In our interview, he talks about active observation, international networking and the L\u00c6B.<\/span><\/p>\n Is the child\u2019s carer unavailable or is there another emergency? Since August, the PVZ has also had a <\/span>parent-child office<\/span><\/a> to help out with situations like this. Room 422 can be easily booked via the Outlook calendar.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cEveryone who visits me is surprised at how beautiful Braunschweig is.\u201d In the \u201cStadt, Land, Studium\u201d series on <\/span>Spiegel Online<\/span><\/a>, Mascha Pfeiffer, a student assistant at the Press and Communications Service, provides an insight into her studies at our university and life in Braunschweig.<\/span><\/p>\n The digital event series <\/span>\u201cImpulsh\u00e4ppchen\u201d<\/span><\/a> (Impulse Bites) organised by Professional and Personnel Development will continue on 16 September. This time, employees can look forward to a short lecture by Prof. Simone Kauffeld on the topic of meetings. No registration is necessary!<\/span><\/p>\n Conducting difficult conversations is a skill that must be learned \u2013\u00a0 and Professional and Personnel Development offers the <\/span>\u201cToolbox Dialogue Management\u201d<\/span><\/a> to help with this. More information about the annual review update and the Toolbox will be provided at a <\/span>digital information event<\/span><\/a> on 17 September. Registration is not required.<\/span><\/p>\n Participants can also expect technology presentations that allow them to immerse themselves in virtual worlds at the event, which has the theme \u201cImmersive worlds, real education?\u201d. The event will be held in English \u2013 further information can be found <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>. <\/span>Registration<\/span><\/a> is open until 21 September.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship<\/span><\/a> supports research stays abroad for a period of 6 – 24 months. On 23 September, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation will provide information about this funding format online.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>exhibition<\/span><\/a> on 16 September at 3 p.m. in the Architecture Pavilion will bring building research and monument preservation into the public eye, inviting visitors to engage with unexpected arguments. It is presented by Prof. Gunnar Schulz-Lehnfeld as part of his <\/span>PhD Impact Project<\/span><\/a>. The event will be accompanied by a <\/span>community caf\u00e9<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n … gives children the opportunity to get a taste of university life and ask researchers all sorts of curious questions. This year’s <\/span>Kinder-Uni<\/span><\/a> will show schoolchildren how much fun research can be, through three Saturday sessions based around the topic of \u201cRecycling\u201d. Registration opens on 15 September. Adults are welcome to join in the fun in the neighbouring lecture hall.
