On 15 September, <\/span>Democracy Day<\/span><\/a> will be celebrated with events including the Democracy Market, the Transfer Service Community Caf\u00e9, and <\/span>\u201c<\/span>Democracy? The Institute of Transportation and Urban Engineering is providing scientific support for the <\/span>\u201cAlbus\u201d project<\/span><\/a>. The main focus is on analysing the potential impact of using autonomous buses in public transport on traffic and the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n The first <\/span>Coastal Research Forum<\/span><\/a> is being hosted by the Coastal Research Centre (FZK) in Hanover on 11 and 12 September. With the theme of <\/span>\u201c<\/span>Rethinking coastal areas: risks, challenges, opportunities<\/span>\u201d<\/span>, the event will see representatives from science, business, society and politics discuss current developments in our coastal areas.<\/span><\/p>\n The results of the <\/span>joint COABS project<\/span><\/a> by the City of Braunschweig and TU Braunschweig will be presented at a closing event on 10 September. The central elements of an urban climate adaptation strategy will be outlined, along with practical examples of neighbourhood initiatives in urban society.<\/span><\/p>\n In August, more than 25 TU Braunschweig employees met at the Media Lab for a <\/span>meeting of the Science Management Network<\/span><\/a>. They discussed the opportunities and limitations of AI. In the <\/span>magazine<\/span><\/a>, she tells us about her Staff Week at the Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Val\u00e8ncia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Together with Taiwan Tech, TU Braunschweig is organising a <\/span>funding call for scientific and administrative university members<\/span><\/a> who would like to initiate binational projects.<\/span><\/p>\n Starting on 7 September, it’s time to get pedalling and clocking up kilometres for the climate. TU Braunschweig is, of course, taking part and is aiming to reclaim the title this year. <\/span>Register<\/span><\/a> now and join in \u2013 every kilometre counts!<\/span><\/p>\n The University Library is offering exclusive trial access to two material databases <\/span>SpringerMaterials<\/span><\/a> (until the end of September) and <\/span>Total Materia<\/span><\/a> (until the end of October). Both databases offer curated data and advanced functionalities for data research and processing. An introduction to Total Materia will be available online via Teams on 9 September. Registration deadline is 12 noon on 19 September. The same deadline applies to language courses. Their aim is to offer Indian students a taste of home and make Indian culture accessible to anyone interested.
