\u25ba Soils in a state of war<\/h3>\n

Dr Anastasiia Splodytel and Prof. Magdalena Sut-Lohmann are developing a novel instrument for land use and management of war-affected ecosystems<\/a>. Their work ranges from risky sampling in Ukraine to complex analyses and sustainable soil remediation concepts.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Walk&Talk, ideas and discussions on urban perspectives<\/h3>\n

\u2018Future City\u2019 brings together many topics that contribute to the major challenges currently facing our society. With the aim of creating mutual understanding between different disciplines and offering broader networking opportunities for research projects, the research focus is hosting an exchange event on 2 September at Campus North (register here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\u25ba Ecoversity funds 16 collaborative projects<\/h3>\n

Sixteen of 26 submissions were selected in the first call for proposals for the Ecoversity funding line \u2018Spaces for Collaboration\u2019<\/a> and will receive funding to sustainably strengthen the culture of scientific exchange and collaboration in the regional ecosystem of TU Braunschweig.<\/p>\n

\u25ba TU spin-off launches EXIST research transfer<\/h3>\n

The start-up \u2018Ceramic Dynamic\u2019 from TU Braunschweig is developing 3D-printed, lead-free piezoceramics. Funded with over one million euros from the EXIST research transfer programme, prototypes will be developed over the next two years with a view to series production and economic viability<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba CIRP Fellowship for Prof. Christoph Herrmann<\/h3>\n

Prof. Christoph Herrmann was awarded a fellowship<\/a> at the annual meeting of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) in Stockholm. Based in Paris, CIRP is one of the world’s most renowned organisations in the field of production engineering. Congratulations!<\/p>\n

\u25ba CoastDoc: Seminar for Coastal Research PhD Students<\/h3>\n

From 24 to 26 September, the Leichtwei\u03b2 Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources is organising CoastDoc<\/a>, an event which invites coastal research doctoral students to exchange ideas and network. The programme includes participant presentations, a workshop on research data management, and tours of the experimental facilities.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Preparation for the Horizon Europe research framework programme<\/h3>\n

The European Commission is preparing the final work programme for Horizon Europe (2026\/27). To help researchers prepare, the Research Service is offering an online series of five seminars in October and November as part of EU-Reason. Registration is required. To the event overview<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba New round of calls for proposals for GeDiMINT seed funding<\/h3>\n

The GeDiMINT project promotes collaborations to determine the relevance of gender dimensions in research fields related to engineering, life sciences and natural sciences. The multi-stage selection process<\/a> begins with the submission of a profile by 15 October.<\/p>\n

\u25ba University history: Studying in the post-war period<\/h3>\n

How did students experience their studies seven decades ago \u2013 and what paths did they take afterwards? A new addition to the university archives tells the story and brings university history<\/a> to life.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Online survey on abuse of power at universities<\/h3>\n

How do students and staff experience power structures at universities \u2013 and where do they encounter discrimination or abuse of power? The DigitalChangeMaker initiative in the Higher Education Forum on Digitalisation wants to use a nationwide, anonymous survey<\/a> to highlight experiences and derive ideas for change.<\/p>\n
