\u25ba On the move to lighten the load at TU Braunschweig<\/h3>\n

Since May, the transformation project \u2018Mit leichtem Gep\u00e4ck\u2019 (Travelling Light) has been working on ways to simplify internal processes at TU Braunschweig. An interim report<\/a> provides insights into the work of individual project teams using interactive forms of participation such as feasibility walks..<\/p>\n

\u25ba 24 million euros for research digitisation<\/h3>\n

TU Braunschweig is coordinating the state-wide project \u2018Lower Saxony Digital Science Support Space (DS3)\u2019 together with the University of G\u00f6ttingen. The aim is to sustainably strengthen the IT infrastructure<\/a> for research through new high-performance computers and the establishment of science support teams.<\/p>\n

\u25ba More tailored medicine<\/h3>\n

Health data can help diagnose diseases, personalise therapies and monitor treatment success. In the joint project MoReHealth<\/a>, in which the TU is also involved, researchers want to investigate the age-related susceptibility of older people to infections based on an existing SHaReD collection of health data.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Strategic partnership with the University of Strathclyde deepened<\/h3>\n

As part of the strategic partnership that has been in place since 2023, a delegation led by Prof. Peter Hecker, Vice President for Research<\/a>, travelled to Glasgow. The TU delegates gained an insight into forward-looking production and materials research facilities and discussed joint research areas.<\/p>\n

\u25ba VDE ITG Prize 2025 for paper by the Institute for CMOS Design<\/h3>\n

A paper by Yannick Wenger, Prof. Bernd Meinerzhagen and Prof. Vadim Issakov was awarded the VDE ITG Prize 2025<\/a>. The publication is one of the best works of 2024 in the field of information technology.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Health Care Building: Excursion to Rwanda<\/h3>\n

What does health-promoting architecture look like in a rapidly changing country? In June, architecture students and lecturers from the Institute of Construction Design, Industrial and Health Care Building (IKE)<\/a> travelled to Kigali, Rwanda, to investigate this question.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Raising the rainbow flag<\/h3>\n

On Friday, 25 July 2025 at 12:30 p.m., the Pride flag will be raised<\/a> on the University Square as part of CSD Braunschweig. With this gesture, the university is sending a visible signal for diversity, respect and cohesion on campus. All TU members are cordially invited to attend.<\/p>\n

\u25ba TU and museum network commemorate Rudolf Levy<\/h3>\n

On the occasion of his 150th birthday on 15 July, the important painter of classical modernism is back in the spotlight. The Stra\u00dfner Collection at TU Braunschweig plays a special role in this. Around 20 museums are commemorating Levy’s impressive life between glory and fate with a joint social media campaign<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba VDI scholarship: Thesis with impact<\/h3>\n

The VDI Braunschweig, in cooperation with Green Office and the Braunschweigischer Hochschulbund, is awarding scholarships of 300 euros per month, mentoring and network access to support theses on sustainable technologies. Please pass this information on to your students \u2013 the application deadline is 4 August.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u25ba Research stay in Lower Saxony: Hannah Arendt Fellowships<\/h3>\n

The fellowships enable outstanding international scholars from the humanities, cultural studies and social sciences to spend six months conducting research in Lower Saxony. In the first funding round in 2026, applications will be accepted by invitation only. The deadline for applications is 15 September (application documents<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\u25ba European Commission launches online platform with AI tools for researchers<\/h3>\n

The most important features of the AI-on-Demand Platform (AIoD)<\/a> include an AI marketplace, low-code development tools and secure access to generative AI and large language models. It also offers trusted data sets, computing resources and ready-to-use AI modules.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Darlings of the week<\/h3>\n

\u2026are the winning teams of the \u2018Best Impact Project 2025\u2019<\/a> competition. With an online course for sign language, an HIV prevention concept for young people and innovative ideas for the further development of regional villages, students are showing how studying can have a social impact.
