On 1 July, the University Council of TU Braunschweig held a regular meeting at the Open Hybrid LabFactory (OHLF) in Wolfsburg. A statement on the strategic orientation of TU Braunschweig<\/a> was adopted.<\/p>\n Together with Science Minister Falko Mohrs and Mayor Thorsten Kornblum, TU President Angela Ittel ceremoniously buried a time capsule in the foundation of the new building. The new building, which cost around 50 million euros, will provide modern teaching and research facilities<\/a> for pharmacy students and scientists.<\/p>\n The DEEP-DV research group led by Prof. Melanie Brinkmann (TU Braunschweig)<\/a> and Prof. Nicole Fischer (UKE) will receive funding for another four years. The aim is to investigate the mechanisms of DNA viruses.<\/p>\n The G\u00f6ttingen\u2013Hanover\u2013Braunschweig region will be home to one of ten nationwide start-up factories in the EXIST flagship competition: GOe FUTURE<\/a> promotes the life science start-up ecosystem and is supported by 34 partner institutions, including TU Braunschweig with its research focus on \u2018Engineering for Health\u2019. With an investment volume of up to \u20ac20 million, GOe FUTURE is one of the largest life science start-up initiatives in Germany.<\/p>\n On 9 July, Bernt Erlewein was elected full-time Vice President<\/a> of the Braunschweig University of Art. As long-standing head of the TU’s Human Resources, Legal Affairs and Academic Affairs division, he brings with him extensive administrative experience. We congratulate him on his election and look forward to continuing our close cooperation within our shared ecosystem.<\/p>\n The HZI Support Association and the Technical University of Braunschweig are honouring Prof. Richmond Sarpong from the University of California, Berkeley, with the Inhoffen Medal 2025<\/a>. Sarpong is an organic chemist who has achieved outstanding success in synthetic chemistry and method development.<\/p>\n The new open-access journal \u201cResearch on Language\u201d<\/a> has been included by the Specialised Information Service for Educational Science and Educational Research as one of five journals in the 2025 crowdfunding package. The journal is co-edited by Prof. Katharina Kellermann from the Institute of German Studies.<\/p>\n As part of the ‘KAUF-AUS: Chance for Heidelberg’s Urban Culture’<\/a> project, organised by the Institute for Architectural Design (IAD), an exhibition is presenting 13 master’s theses dealing with the reuse of the former Galeria Kaufhof building. The designs can be viewed on large-format plans attached to the fences surrounding the department store.<\/p>\n Professor Christian Dietrich<\/a>, Institute of Operating Systems and Computer Networks, will hold his inaugural lecture \u201cUpgrades und Updates: Systemsoftware zwischen Hardwareevolution und Softwarekomplexit\u00e4t!\u201d on 16 July.<\/p>\n On 17 July, around 190 students from the Bachelor\u2019s degree programmes in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Computer and Communication Systems Engineering and Mathematics will present the results of this year\u2019s software development internship<\/a>. Prizes will be awarded to the three best teams.<\/p>\n Raphael Ginster<\/a>, research assistant at the AIP Institute, received the Graedel Best Paper Prize at the 12th International Conference on Industrial Ecology in Singapore. The topic of the publication: \u2018Circular Battery Production in the EU\u2019. Congratulations!<\/p>\n Would you like to live stream a lecture, make teaching content from the laboratory available digitally, or prepare video elements for a course? The teaching laboratories<\/a> at the faculties offer high-quality equipment for these and other scenarios.<\/p>\n At this popular party series, professors from TU Braunschweig, Ostfalia and HBK join professional DJs in Braunschweig clubs to spin records. The proceeds go to charitable projects in the region.
