Redaktion: <\/span>Hannah Kre\u00df<\/span><\/p>\n On 8 April, the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences honoured TU alumnus <\/span>Prof. Rainald L\u00f6hner<\/span><\/a> for his outstanding contributions to engineering science. L\u00f6hner is Director of the Centre for Computational Fluid Dynamics at the College of Sciences at George Mason University in the USA. He is a regular guest at the Institute of Statics and Dynamics, where he works together with staff and students on \u201cHigh Fidelity Digital Twins\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n In the quantum year 2025, <\/span>various events<\/span><\/a> organised by the QuantumFrontiers Cluster of Excellence will present exciting perspectives on 100 years of quantum physics. Among other things, a Science Watch Party and a performance exhibition will provide fascinating insights into the quantum world.<\/span><\/p>\n … is on display in a hands-on exhibition at the Phaeno Science Centre in Wolfsburg. <\/span>The prototype<\/span><\/a>, which is being shown for the first time to mark World Quantum Day on 14 April, was created in collaboration with Professors Rainer M\u00fcller of TU Braunschweig and Nabeel Aslam of the University of Leipzig.<\/span><\/p>\n A central component of the BMBF-funded research campus Open Hybrid Lab Factory is the <\/span>project \u201cCirProTech\u201d<\/span><\/a>, whose kick-off meeting took place at the end of March. The aim is to develop innovative strategies for the recycling of plastic and CFRP components \u2013 with combined forces of research and industry.<\/span><\/p>\n Katharina Kellermann<\/span><\/a> is new professor of German Language Didactics at the Institute for German Studies. She already got to know TU Braunschweig during her doctoral phase. Professor Kellermann researches how language acquisition and the development of linguistic skills can be specifically promoted. A very warm welcome!<\/span><\/p>\n And welcome back! <\/span>Prof. Vincent Oettel<\/span><\/a> is Head of the Concrete Construction Division of the Institute of Building Materials, Concrete Construction and Fire Safety (iBMB). He knows our university well: he studied at TU Braunschweig, did his doctorate here and was a senior engineer at the iBMB. In our interview, he talks about his research into high-performance concrete, bamboo as reinforcement and modular bridge systems reminiscent of Lego.<\/span><\/p>\n The Director of the University Library, <\/span>Robert Str\u00f6tgen<\/span><\/a>, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Herzog August Library (HAB) in Wolfenb\u00fcttel by Lower Saxony’s Science Minister, Falko Mohrs. The five-year term of office began on 1 April.<\/span><\/p>\n On 13 May, Altgeb\u00e4ude and Media Lab will host the <\/span>University:Future Festival<\/span><\/a> \u2013 a day dedicated to future tech in teaching and studying. Staff, lecturers, students and external guests can look forward to a varied programme of keynotes, lectures and workshops. The line-up includes Aya Jaff, J\u00fcrgen Geuter and Keith Ranaldi.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cFantastic Worlds\u201d<\/span><\/a> is the focus of the lecture series’, organised by Prof. Andrea Schindler of the Institute of German Studies. Starting on 15 April, the 13 lectures will range from the legendary Arthurian novels to classic 19th and 20th century fantasy and modern fantasy and science fiction universes.<\/span><\/p>\n An art collection rediscovered! Until 8 June, the Stra\u00dfner Collection of TU Braunschweig is on display at the St\u00e4dtisches Museum Braunschweig. The exhibition ‘Excavated! Realism from Aristide Maillol to the ZEBRA Group\u201d is accompanied by a <\/span>series of lectures<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>guided tours<\/span><\/a> with curator Dr Laura Breede.<\/span><\/p>\n On 15 May, the Company Integration Management and the Cooperation Office for Universities and Trade Unions cordially invite students, employees, managers and all interested parties to the <\/span>Long COVID Action Day<\/span><\/a> at TU.<\/span><\/p>\n The DFG and JSPS have renewed their joint funding for Japanese-German International Research Training Groups (IRTGs), open to all subject areas covered by JSPS.
