An app allows users to track their own power production and start challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n As part of a delegation of German university leaders organised by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), <\/span>TU President Angela Ittel visited<\/span><\/a> India last week. She also used the trip to strengthen the <\/span>partnership between TU Braunschweig and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay<\/span><\/a> (IIT Bombay).<\/span><\/p>\n In times of increasing drought and rising temperatures, an interdisciplinary team of researchers from our university and the Julius K\u00fchn Institute (JKI) is investigating how climate, soil sealing and water availability affect urban trees in the <\/span>\u201cCliMax\u201d project<\/span><\/a>. They have studied three tree species at a total of nine sites in Braunschweig.<\/span><\/p>\n Dr Mariachiara Gallia<\/span><\/a> has been awarded a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship by the European Commission. The senior scientist at the Institute of Fluid Mechanics is researching icing on aircraft. Many congratulations!<\/span><\/p>\n Liontech Instruments<\/span><\/a>, a spin-off of the Institute for Communications Technology, has won awards in the nationwide business plan competition start2grow and in the BMWK’s \u201cStart-up Competition <\/span>\u2013<\/span> Digital Innovations\u201d. The start-up, funded by the EXIST start-up grant, develops hardware-based malware protection.<\/span><\/p>\n On 4 April, the Night of the Libraries will take place under the motto \u201cKnow. Share. Discover\u201d. Whether it’s a book flea market, a bookbinding workshop, a pharmacy quiz or a guided tour \u2013 the <\/span>University Library<\/span><\/a> offers a full programme from 6pm to 10pm.<\/span><\/p>\n From 1 April until 15 July, Camp Westerbork Memorial Centre will exhibit a <\/span>travelling exhibition<\/span><\/a> at the library on TU Campus Nord. The exhibition shares the stories, artists and development process of the graphic novel \u201cPicturing the Unimaginable\u201d which depicts ten stories about the Holocaust and other Nazi crimes. The exhibition will be accompanied by <\/span>a hybrid course<\/span><\/a> offered at the department of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (Institute of English and American Studies).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The DAAD office in Tokyo and the German House for Research and Innovation (DWIH) at the same location invite to an annual <\/span>\u201cGerman Research Fair\u201d<\/span><\/a> on 10 April for Japanese doctoral candidates and postdocs who would like to find out about research and funding opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n On 14 March, the <\/span>final session<\/span><\/a> of the ZPE programme \u201cF\u00fchren mit Kurs\u201d took place. The twelve participants discussed their experiences of the programme and the topic of leadership with HVP Dietmar Smyrek.<\/span><\/p>\n On 25 and 26 September, the final conference of the project \u201cInterdisciplinary Perspectives on Extended Realities in Education\u201d (INTERXR) will take place. The results of the project will be presented and the potential for research and teaching will be discussed. Posters\/presentations (in English) and technology presentations can be submitted <\/span>here<\/span><\/a> until 15 April.<\/span><\/p>\n A special highlight of the Arts and Science Lab in the Science Showcase at Waisenhausdamm 8 is the <\/span>installation by renowned artist Hito Steyerl<\/span><\/a>, which can be seen from 28 March to 31 May.<\/span><\/p>\n As part of WindEurope 2025 in Copenhagen, the EU-funded <\/span>INF4INiTY project<\/span><\/a>, coordinated by the Leichtwei\u00df Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources, is organising an event on ‘Critical Technologies for Future Offshore Wind’. On 9 April, scientists will present innovative solutions for the design of the next generation of floating wind farms.<\/span><\/p>\n In a <\/span>double book launch<\/span><\/a>, Professor Folke K\u00f6bberling and Professor Helga Blocksdorf will present ‘Wollbau. Wool <\/span>\u2013<\/span> an underestimated resource’ and \u201cConstructive Disobedience\u201d. The discussion will focus on architecture-related art, courage and disobedience, scarcity of resources and experimental methods.<\/span><\/p>\n On 3 April, Prof. Ina Schaefer will speak at the Haus der Wissenschaft about the challenges of <\/span>introducing autonomous vehicles<\/span><\/a>.
