Play.\u201d There will be a science slam, expeditions through research facilities, a music festival on the North Campus and a sports festival for the whole family. More information about the event and opportunities for TU institutions to participate can be found <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n On 19 March, the <\/span>current Senate met for the last time before<\/span><\/a> the newly elected body continues its valuable work on 2 April. The outgoing term of office was characterised by many landmark decisions and, above all, by the positive development of cooperation between the Executive Board and the Senate. Our President, Angela Ittel, thanks all members of the outgoing Senate for this.<\/span><\/p>\n New regulations require battery manufacturers to increase the transparency of their supply chains and increase the use of recycled materials. To meet these requirements, scientists in the <\/span>SUSTRAB project<\/span><\/a> have developed tools for sustainability assessment and decision support in battery production.<\/span><\/p>\n From 31 March to 4 April, TU Braunschweig will be presenting research <\/span>highlights at the industrial trade fair<\/span><\/a> in Hannover. The focus will be on medium-range aircraft for sustainable aviation and innovations in the fields of quantum technology, recycling management, mobility and hydrogen.<\/span><\/p>\n China is not only the world’s largest car market, it is also playing a leading role in automotive innovation. In a series of <\/span>online lectures starting on 28 March<\/span><\/a>, Dr-Ing Weijun Lu, Head of the Liaison Office of TU Braunschweig and the NFF Representative Office at Tongji University in Shanghai, will explore the application potential and transfer to the global market.<\/span><\/p>\n Autonomous vehicles such as robotaxis promise improved mobility, increased road safety and greater sustainability. On 3 April at 17:30 at the Haus der Wissenschaft, <\/span>Prof. Ina Schaefer will discuss<\/span><\/a> the challenges of introducing autonomous vehicles and present a concept that could help advance their introduction.<\/span><\/p>\n The Science and Art Lab, which is currently in residence at the Wissenschaftsschaufenster der ForschungRegion (Waisenhausdamm 8), invites you to <\/span>numerous events in the coming week<\/span><\/a>, where stakeholders from TU Braunschweig will also talk about their work. In addition to a picture book reading and duets, among others with Hanna Noller (Zukunftslabor.Klima Open Planning Cultures) and Mareike Bernien (Artist in Residence at QuantumFrontiers), an exhibition of works by the artist, filmmaker and author Hito Steyerl will open on Thursday, 27 March at 7:30 pm.<\/span><\/p>\n On Future Day, 3 April, many students will once again visit our institutes and get a glimpse of science. It is important to include short captions, the name of the photographer and <\/span>parental consent for publication<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n The Institute for Chemical and Thermal Process Engineering’s project \u201cRecovery of recyclable materials using thin-film evaporation\u201d has been awarded the <\/span>GVT Project of the Year 2025<\/span><\/a> prize by the Forschungs-Gesellschaft Verfahrenstechnik e.V. (GVT). It provides an technology for increasing resource efficiency in chemical production processes and supports efforts to de-carbonise them.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>AMC Symposium \u201cBuilding the Future\u201d<\/span><\/a> on 31 March and 1 April in Weimar will explore the transition from Bauhaus\u2019 guiding principle \u201cForm Follows Function\u201d to the contemporary leading theme \u201cForm Follows Material.\u201d The event brings together leading researchers and industry experts to discuss the future of construction, digital structures, and sustainable materials.<\/span><\/p>\n The next digital event in the dialogue series \u201cAfter the virus? Long COVID in the world of work\u201d will take place. The lecture will focus on stress and coping strategies in working life. To <\/span>register<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Research Service is taking part in the conference <\/span>\u201cCareers Beyond Academia: Options and Pathways for Researchers\u201d<\/span><\/a> at the University of Oxford (UK) and will be represented with an information stand at the associated career fair.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>new funding initiative<\/span><\/a> is aimed at natural, life or engineering scientists who want to rethink their research. The Volkswagen Foundation supports interdisciplinary tandems of two scientists. Online consultation hours on 15 April and 24 April.<\/span><\/p>\n To investigate these and other questions related to satisfaction with and acceptance of e-scooters in Braunschweig, Markus Wiegratz is conducting a <\/span>10-12 minute survey<\/span><\/a> in cooperation with the city of Braunschweig as part of his master’s thesis at the Chair of Service Management. The results will be used in Braunschweig’s future mobility planning.<\/span><\/p>\n This book<\/span><\/a> by Prof. Mark Vollrath, published by Springer-Verlag, provides a brief overview of traffic psychology topics and research approaches. It can be downloaded for free from TU Braunschweig website (PDF).<\/span><\/p>\n \u2026 Department 16 and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Kurt Baumann, would like to thank all the former members of the Commission for Studies and Teaching (KSW) for their commitment. After more than 20 years, the KSW held its last meeting yesterday.
