The goals are to improve collision risk assessment and to ensure safer and more sustainable space operations.<\/span><\/p>\n TU Braunschweig and Fraunhofer IST are conducting joint research at the Hydrogen Campus Salzgitter. Together with regional companies, new hydrogen technologies are being developed here. <\/span>Professor Sabrina Zellmer reports<\/span><\/a> on the goals of the accompanying research.<\/span><\/p>\n An interdisciplinary research group at TU Braunschweig has <\/span>developed an artificial intelligence<\/span><\/a> that characterises images from scanning tunnelling microscopes with 99% accuracy. This more efficient analysis will speed up processes in basic research at the LENA research centre and the QuantumFrontiers cluster of excellence.<\/span><\/p>\n Professor Kai Richter<\/span><\/a> was appointed to TU Braunschweig in a joint appointment procedure with the German Aerospace Center (DLR). He is concerned with the influence of aerodynamics on aircraft and spacecraft and how aeroplanes, helicopters and rocket systems can be significantly more environmentally friendly in the future. To make this pollution visible, Merle Riecke, a graduate in environmental engineering, developed the OpenBikeSensor with a <\/span>particulate matter sensor<\/span><\/a> as part of her master’s thesis at the Institute for Transport, Railway Construction and Operation (IVE). The data could help cities and communities identify air pollution hotspots and take action.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n How can Braunschweig better adapt to the consequences of climate change? The City of Braunschweig, together with the Institute for Sustainable Urbanism, is calling for creative project ideas that can be implemented quickly to be submitted to the <\/span>\u201cCo-Adapted Braunschweig\u201d<\/span><\/a> project by 12 March.<\/span><\/p>\n On 18 February at 10:30 a.m. the public event <\/span>\u201cMeet SAiL: Good Practices in International Teaching at TU Braunschweig\u201d<\/span><\/a> will take place in the International Teaching Lab of the Project House. Teaching projects that have already been funded by the SAiL funding programme will be presented, along with a wide range of ideas for the (further) development of international teaching at TU Braunschweig.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>Volkswagen Foundation’s call for proposals<\/span><\/a> is aimed at project teams of two or three researchers from the humanities and cultural sciences who would like to work together to explore new and innovative research areas. The deadline for applications: 3 April.
