Redaktion: <\/span>Hannah Kre\u00df<\/span><\/p>\n <\/b>Fewer animal experiments, more meaningful results and individually optimised medicines: In the EU project <\/span>UNLOOC<\/span><\/a>, which is funded with 68 million euros, 51 partners want to revolutionise drug research with organ-on-chips. A key part of the technology is being developed by the Institute for CMOS Design at the Technical University of Braunschweig.<\/span><\/p>\n In the current <\/span>Master’s ranking of the CHE<\/span><\/a> Center for Higher Education Development, the Master’s degree programs in Computer Science and Data Science as well as the Master’s degree programs in Physics and Solar System Physics received top marks from students at TU Braunschweig for the study conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n Photographic impressions and a yellow car can be seen at the NFF until 10 January. 12 photographers from the region present their ideas and motifs on the theme of <\/span>\u201cMobility and Christmas\u201d<\/span><\/a> in the NFF gallery. The exhibition is open daily from 8am to 6pm until 20 December and then again from 6 to 10 January.<\/span><\/p>\n The new <\/span>TUmorrow Journal 24\/25<\/span><\/a> provides an overview of sustainability-oriented projects and initiatives at TU Braunschweig. It presents contributions from teaching, studies and volunteer work, including the award-winning works and projects of the TUmorrow Awards 2024.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In its second project report, the <\/span>Co-Adapted Braunschweig (COABS)<\/span><\/a> project, in which the Institute for Geoecology and the SpACE Lab of the Institute for Sustainable Urbanism are involved, proposes measures for Braunschweig’s climate change adaptation strategy. The 33 recommendations show how the consequences of climate change can be reduced.<\/span><\/p>\n In a three-year project funded by the Klaus Tschira Foundation, <\/span>Dr Matthias Beyer<\/span><\/a> from the Institute of Geoecology and Prof Matthias B\u00fccker from the University of Kiel are investigating the hydraulic redistribution of water by plants. They want to use their findings for agriculture and forestry.<\/span><\/p>\n Professor Antje Schwalb<\/span><\/a> from the Institute of Geosystems and Bioindication has been appointed to the jury of the Lower Saxony State Prize for a further six years by the Minister President of Lower Saxony, Stephan Weil. The jury consists of up to ten people from Lower Saxony.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>student initiative AKAMAV<\/span><\/a> successfully participated in the International Micro Aerial Vehicle Conference and Competition (IMAV) in Bristol. Under the theme \u201cWildlife Conservation\u201d, they came second in the outdoor competition and participated in the indoor competition for the first time, demonstrating the versatility of autonomous drones in wildlife conservation scenarios.<\/span><\/p>\n The conference <\/span>\u201cConstructive Disobedience\u201d<\/span><\/a>, hosted by the Institute for Construction IKON at the Staatstheater in autumn 2022, is now complemented by a publication of the same name. The international projects presented in the book range from rammed earth buildings and studies of heterogeneous constructions to the rediscovery of natural materials such as hemp and lime.<\/span><\/p>\n This weekend, TU Braunschweig is hosting the 5th Student Conference on the topic of <\/span>\u201cInternationalisation of Higher Education\u201d<\/span><\/a>. The three-day event will commence this evening at 5pm with a panel discussion in the auditorium of the Haus der Wissenschaft. All TU staff are cordially invited!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Applications under the <\/span>ERDF funding line<\/span><\/a> \u201cInnovation through universities and research institutions\u201d can be submitted until 5 February. Funding is available for innovative and application-orientated cooperation projects with regional companies and\/or universities and research institutions. The call for proposals is open to all topics, but should be assigned to at least one focus area of the <\/span>RIS3<\/span><\/a> strategy for Lower Saxony. Staatstheater is looking for <\/span>cooperation partners from the field of research<\/span><\/a> in connection with the opening of a new venue on the former garrison grounds in the \u00d6stliches Ringgebiet of Braunschweig. Judith S\u00fcnderhauf and Emily Warringsholz, both from JUNGES! Schauspiel, will present the project online on Friday 13 December at 1pm.<\/span><\/p>\n On 27 January, the TrainingProgramme is offering a first aid course in English. The one-day course is aimed at international academic staff, e.g. doctoral students and administrative staff, who would like to learn how to behave in an emergency and how to help if necessary.
