On 14 October at 9 a.m. TU Braunschweig welcomes all first semester students in the Eintracht stadium. A varied and international <\/span>programme<\/span><\/a> awaits the new students. This will be followed by an information fair on the central campus. The Welcome Week for new international students takes place from\u00a0 7 October.<\/span><\/p>\n An international research team has developed <\/span>\u201cNeEDL\u201d, an AI tool for analysing complex genetic connections<\/span><\/a>. This tool identifies genetic interactions that influence many hereditary diseases and were previously difficult to recognise. The genetic dependencies identified can help in the development of therapies.<\/span><\/p>\n Together with the TU’s <\/span>Digital Innovation and Transformation Law Hub<\/span><\/a>, the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior and Sport has launched a research project in the context of administrative digitalisation. The aim is to redesign and adapt administrative law to make it fit for the future.<\/span><\/p>\n Lake Pet\u00e9n-Itz\u00e1 in Guatemala stores information about climate and environmental changes over the last 400,000 years in the sediments at the bottom of the lake. In his doctoral project at the Institute of Geosystems and Bioindication, <\/span>Dr des. Rodrigo Mart\u00ednez-Abarca<\/span><\/a> analysed these changes on three time scales.<\/span><\/p>\n Dr Gertrudis Rojas Dorantes from the Centro de Inmunolog\u00eda Molecular (CIM) in Havana is now a guest at the Departments of Biotechnology and Medical Biotechnology for the sixth time. Together with Dr Maren Schubert, she is working <\/span>on an improved therapy<\/span><\/a> for various types of cancer by modifying the immune response using the body’s own stimulants.<\/span><\/p>\n Following her research work at the German Institute of Human Nutrition in Potsdam-Rehbr\u00fccke, she was appointed junior professor at TU Braunschweig in April:<\/span> Jana Raupbach<\/span><\/a> is researching factors that influence human digestion.<\/span><\/p>\n The Core Research Area <\/span>\u201c<\/span>Future City<\/span>\u201d<\/span> invites you to the annual retreat on 24 and 25 October. This interdisciplinary event is an opportunity to make new contacts and develop research ideas together. The invitation is open to researchers of all career levels and faculties. Information on the programme and registration can be found on the <\/span>Future City website<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n This year, 139 maths enthusiasts from 33 schools applied for one of the 22 Year 3 places on the <\/span>Maths Learning Workshop (LWS)<\/span><\/a> support programme. The LWS is all about having fun with numbers, shapes and structures, encouraging the joy of problem solving and stimulating intellectual curiosity.<\/span><\/p>\n The Green Office is part of the <\/span>ISCN Best Practices Report<\/span><\/a>. This contains 45 case studies from 36 ISCN members, which present their commitment to promoting sustainability at universities and are intended to inspire and guide.<\/span><\/p>\n The next <\/span>iTUBS Transformittag<\/span><\/a> will take place on 29 October from 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Haus der Wissenschaft.\u00a0 Under the motto <\/span>\u201c<\/span>Even more transfer<\/span>\u201d<\/span>, the morning will offer inspiring ideas, exciting discussions and networking opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n The Arbeitskreis der Sprachenzentren an Hochschulen e.V. (AKS) is once again honouring <\/span>outstanding language teaching at universities<\/span><\/a>.
