We look forward to your participation!<\/span><\/p>\n Two of the four new <\/span>Climate Future Labs<\/span><\/a> at the Lower Saxony Centre for Climate Research are headed by our University: \u201cUrban Climate Future Lab\u201d (UCFL) is led by Professor Vanessa Carlow, \u201cOpen Planning Cultures. Design Principles for Transformative Spaces (OPEN_CULTURES)\u201d by Professor Tatjana Schneider. Funded with up to five million euros, the Future Labs conduct research into climate-friendly urban and rural development. TU Braunschweig is also involved in the “FoResLab” project with Dr Matthias Beyer (Junior Research Group Leader “Isodrones”) and Professor Harald Biester (Environmental Geochemistry Group) from the Institute of Geoecology on the topic of “Effects of climate change on the forest ecosystem”. Thousands of satellites are whizzing around our universe. They not only provide good internet, but also leave behind millions of pieces of debris. Leonard Schulz from the Institute of Geophysics and Extraterrestrial Physics reports in an <\/span>interview<\/span><\/a> that this can become a problem for our atmosphere and explains the possible consequences.<\/span><\/p>\n With a new cooperation agreement, the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig are extending the joint <\/span>International Graduate School of Metrology<\/span><\/a> (B-IGSM) until at least 2028. In addition to supervising doctoral students, the B-IGSM organises events and facilitates joint large-scale projects such as the QuantumFrontiers Cluster of Excellence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The student Laura Patzke is one of 650 selected participants taking part in the <\/span>73rd Nobel Laureate <\/span><\/a>Meeting in Lindau on Lake Constance. From 30 June to 5 July, more than 30 Nobel Laureates will be exchanging ideas with young scientists from all over the world on this year’s main topic of physics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Prof. Kai Schr\u00f6ter<\/span><\/a> will hold his inaugural lecture <\/span>\u201c<\/span>Hydrologie und Flussgebietsmanagement \u2013 Neue Datenquellen und Methoden f\u00fcr eine zukunftsorientierte Wasserbewirtschaftung\u201c on 2. July, <\/span>Prof. Carmen Gr\u00e4\u00dfle<\/span><\/a> \u201c<\/span>Model reduction and data assimilation for flows and dynamics\u201c, and<\/span> Prof. Tim Kacprowski<\/span><\/a> \u201c<\/span>(Molecular) Interactions\u201c on 3. July.<\/span><\/p>\n How close or how far away are the \u201cWeimar conditions\u201d today? Professor Ute Daniel of the Institute of History will explore this question in her <\/span>farewell lecture<\/span><\/a> on 3 July. The event will take place at 18:30 in lecture hall SN 19.1 in the Old Building.<\/span><\/p>\n On Sunday, 30 June, the two award-winning buildings, the Audimax and the Studierendenhaus, can be visited as part of the Day of Architecture from 11 am to 5 pm. Anyone wishing to find out more about the buildings can join one of the three <\/span>guided tours<\/span><\/a> organised by the architects. Registration is not necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n For the <\/span>three end-of-semester concerts<\/span><\/a> of the TU Orchestra, the Audimax is transformed into a stadium. Under the motto \u201cThe ball is round. And a concert lasts 90 minutes\u201d, the musicians will show how well music and football can go together and set the dramaturgy. The concerts will take place on 6 July at 3 pm, 7 July at 7 pm and 8 July at 8 pm in the Audimax, admission is free.<\/span><\/p>\n On 2 July, a public workshop rehearsal with the <\/span>competition programme<\/span><\/a> for the Magdeburg Choir Festival will take place in the Audimax from 8 to 10 pm.<\/span><\/p>\n The BMBF-funded project \u201cGender dimensions in the view of STEM research (GeDiMINT)\u201d will introduce itself at the start of the \u201cResearch in dialogue\u201d series on 5 July. Impulses on the conditions for the success of interdisciplinary research will introduce the discussion entitled <\/span>\u201cInterdisciplinary communication bridges\u201d<\/span><\/a>. Registration is requested.<\/span><\/p>\n The exhibition <\/span>\u201cSleeping Beauties\u201d<\/span><\/a> in the Flebbe House on Bohlweg aims to awaken the potential of empty spaces. From 9 July, the Institute of Building Design and the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture and the City will present student projects and invite to discussions.<\/span><\/p>\n Postdocs can apply for two different funding models as part of the <\/span>Initiative Fund<\/span><\/a>. The Postdoc Career Grant is aimed at all TU researchers shortly after their doctorate who are seeking a DFG grant with their own position or comparable target formats. The Postdoc International Mobility Grant is intended to enable international exchange formats and research stays abroad.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>canteen flea market<\/span><\/a> in the social and meeting room in the old main building enters its final round on 1 and 2 July from 10 am to 3 pm.<\/span><\/p>\n is our alumnus Professor Markus Rex, who took the audience in the <\/span>Alumni*ae Talks<\/span><\/a> series on the fascinating one-year journey of the \u201cPolarstern\u201d through the fantastically beautiful expanses of the Arctic.
