On 22 June, the North Campus of Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig will be transformed into a festival site. The new day festival format “Summervibes X Campusnord” invites you to join in with the sounds of various live bands and a science exhibition from 3 pm. The free North Campus Festival is organised by Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig in cooperation with the AStA and the Jugendring Braunschweig.<\/p>\n

Two stages and lots of music<\/h3>\n

The team, made up of young pupils and students, has put together a multi-faceted festival where music meets practical science. The festival kicks off at 3 pm with Postline, a band made up in part of members of the Institute of Music and Music Education at TU Braunschweig. The line-up also includes local music stars such as singer-songwriter Emma Naughton, DJ and MC combo \u201cPocoLoco\u201c and soul and funk band \u201cNew Soul Generation\u201c. Headlining will be the Berlin dancefloor trap duo \u201cTeleshop\u201c, who will bring tech house beats to the stage. A second floor, organised by Braunschweig collective @vonseite__, will feature a variety of DJs spinning music for dancing and relaxing.<\/p>\n

Practical science<\/h3>\n

The science programme of the Summervibes X North Campus Festival also has a lot to offer. From the Mars Rover and robot arm to a scanning electron microscope, from experiments with food to experimental rockets and Mars Rovers: the lecture hall building of the North Campus will be transformed into a “Science Field”. TU Braunschweig institutes and student initiatives present practical science and invite visitors to join in. Exciting workshops and lectures on learning foreign languages, poetry and an interactive rehearsal by the theatre group “Tubs Players” will take place while the stage is being converted. On the other hand, there will be sports activities in the playground.<\/p>\n

Food stalls, including those organised by student initiatives, and a bar will provide refreshments.<\/p>\n

Hands-on experiments at the Institute of Food Chemistry<\/strong>
\nFrom blind food tasting and olfactory guessing to molecular cooking and making sugar pearls, and much more.<\/p>\n

Exhibits from the Leichtwei\u00df-Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Hose Weir Model: Try out how to achieve flexible water level control with a working miniature hose weir model.
\nTurbine test bed: A Pelton turbine is used to demonstrate how climate-friendly electricity can be generated from water.
\nThe augmented reality sandbox can be used to reproduce the topology of the landscape and predict water flow to check the effectiveness of hydraulic engineering measures.<\/p>\n

elenia Institute for High Voltage Technology and Power Systems<\/strong>
\nLightning has an impact on our power grid. The Mini-Marx surge voltage generator simulates many lightning strikes so that this influence can be studied.<\/p>\n

Institute for Partial Differential Equations<\/strong>
\nThe Institute for Partial Differential Equations shows what a robot arm and its control system have to do with mathematics.<\/p>\n

Cluster of Excellence QuantumFrontiers
\n<\/strong>How does an atomic force\/scanning tunneling microscope work and can it be used to image atomic crystal structures, for example?<\/p>\n

Institute for Educational Sciences<\/strong>
\nA roll-up exhibition shows career fields and sample biographies from the field of Educational Sciences<\/p>\n

Exhibits from the ERIG, Experimental Rockets Working Group<\/strong>
\nThe student initiative ERIG presents the experimental rocket Phoebe, which they developed, designed and built themselves.
\nThe ORTHOS Mars rover, which takes part in an annual competition on a replica of the Martian surface, is also largely designed, built and tested in-house.<\/p>\n

    • Textiles brought along can be screen printed with pre-designed motifs.<\/li>\n
    • TU’s chess group offers chess to play and games to borrow.<\/li>\n
    • The partner yoga acrobatics course “Akro-Yoga” invites you to join in.<\/li>\n
    • Fitness can be tested with the bunkie test at the Strength Sport Challenge organised by the Institute of Sports Science and Movement Pedagogy.<\/li>\n
    • Skill can be tested with the Schuntille e.V. pirate ladder.<\/li>\n
    • Table tennis to join in. The Schuntille e.V. team provides everything you need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      To the “Summervibes X Campusnord”<\/h3>\n

      Under the motto “Strong together”, the organisers of the Summervibes Festival, which has traditionally taken place at the Westbahnhof, have teamed up with Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig and the AStA to transform the North Campus on Bienroder Weg into a festival site of music and science. The event is financed and supported by Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig, the City of Braunschweig’s Youth Development Department and the Stiftung Braunschweigischer Kulturbesitz.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
