From 8 to 14 April, you can immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the quantum with a <\/span>varied programme<\/span><\/a> in Braunschweig and the surrounding region. For those who have always wanted to know how realistic science fiction films are, we recommend the Science Watch Party \u201cPhysics in Hollywood\u201d on 14 April at TU Braunschweig.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Scientists from the <\/span>Braunschweig Pavement Engineering Center (ISBS)<\/span><\/a> together with researchers from TU Wien and the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences are working on a research project to develop a bioasphalt. In this project, sustainable biological binders will replace conventional fossil bitumen. The project is funded by the Volkswagen Foundation with around 707,000 euros.<\/span><\/p>\n Our <\/span>picture of the month<\/span><\/a> shows a filigree bridge – developed in the Collaborative Research Centre \u201cAdditive Manufacturing in Construction\u201d (AMC) using \u201cInjection 3D Concrete Printing\u201d. The 3D printing process enables lightweight structures that were previously impossible with concrete.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>new Leibniz ScienceCampus<\/span><\/a> “Evolutionary Ecology of Zoonotic Pathogens during Agricultural Transformations” is located at the Leibniz Institute DSMZ in Braunschweig. DSMZ, HZI, TU Braunschweig and other partners are researching pathogens and the mechanisms that enable their adaptation to the environment and facilitate the transition to humans.<\/span><\/p>\n Prof. Dr. J\u00fcrgen Pannek, <\/span>Institute for Intermodal Transport and Logistics Systems<\/span>, w<\/span>ill hold his <\/span>Inaugural lecture<\/span><\/a> \u201eVon Verkehr zu Mobilit\u00e4t\u201d on 10 April.<\/span><\/p>\n The travelling exhibition <\/span>‘Afrotopia NDS’<\/span><\/a> will be on display at the University Library from 2 April to 30 April. The exhibition is part of the <\/span>Focus 2024: racism-critical university<\/span><\/a> and portrays five well-known black personalities from Lower Saxony who present their individual success stories. Through their perspectives, visitors can see resistance, obstacles and inspiring moments of self-assertion against racism and intersectional discrimination.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>Mental Health First Aid Programme<\/span><\/a> pilot project offers researchers at TU Braunschweig the opportunity to seek support in the form of first aid talks with qualified employees and to cope with stressful situations.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>Braunschweig Innovation Forum<\/span><\/a> on 11 April is all about 3D printing. Researchers at the Centre for Additive Manufacturing at Ostfalia University in Wolfenb\u00fcttel and the Digital Building Fabrication Laboratory at TU Braunschweig will be opening the doors to their laboratories and demonstrating live what is possible with additive manufacturing.<\/span><\/p>\n Elections for the Main Staff Council of the Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK) will take place on 9 and 10 April.
