Editor: Hannah Kre\u00df<\/span><\/p>\n Two Transregional Collaborative Research Centres, one Alexander von Humboldt-Professorship, and two ERC Grants: In recent months, we have celebrated many successes in the field of research. What goals are we setting for ourselves this year, and where do the greatest challenges lie? We discussed these topics in an <\/span>interview<\/span><\/a> with President Angela Ittel and Vice President for Research Peter Hecker.<\/span><\/p>\n Professor Alexander B\u00fcssing<\/span><\/a> heads the Department of Biology Didactics at the Institute of Didactics of Natural Sciences. His research focuses on how biological learning processes can be improved and what sustainable biology teaching should look like. A warm welcome!<\/span><\/p>\n From April the <\/span>project SUCCESS<\/span><\/a> of the International House and the Alumni & Career Service Centre aims to strengthen the integration of international students into the regional labour market. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is providing around 1.2 million euros for the project. In addition to the TU faculties, the project partners are the Braunschweig Region Employers’ Association (AGV)\u00a0 and the Braunschweig Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).<\/span><\/p>\n The next round of the cooperative participation and planning process for the CO_LIVING CAMPUS started on 4 March with the <\/span>CO_WETTBEWERB<\/span><\/a> on the North Campus. The interim and final presentations of the four urban designs are scheduled for 8 and 15 March in the lecture hall building.<\/span><\/p>\n Prof. Elisabeth Endres<\/span><\/a> has been appointed by the Secretary General of the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (German Federal Environmental Foundation) as a member of the selection committee for the scholarship programme for a period of three years. The programme awards doctoral scholarships to young scientists who develop new approaches to solving current environmental problems, and provides them with financial and non-material support.<\/span><\/p>\n You had the chance to vote last week and now the <\/span>results<\/span><\/a> of the staff council election have been finalised. The following were elected as employee representatives: Regina Stegemann, Marianne Putzker, Sylvia Glowania, Stefanie B\u00f6hm, Audrey Bode, Brigitte Brinkmann, Dr Ute Kopka, Dr Maurice Scheer, Frank Rust, Marcel Gey, Stefan Klein, Simon Hartmann, Torsten Hinz, Emanuel Chmielarski and Frank Becker. The civil servants’ representatives for the next four years are Petra Eimbeck and Kai Brunzel. Congratulations and many thanks to all those involved and the election helpers!<\/span><\/p>\n The Central Human Resources Development <\/span>programme<\/span><\/a> offers all employees many new and proven seminar topics for various areas of work. Registration for the seminars from April to September is now possible via <\/span>Stud.IP.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n The <\/span>SAiL funding line<\/span><\/a> invites you to submit projects to strengthen and expand English-language teaching. Projects for the (further) development of a thematic module package in English or an English-language degree programme are supported. Applications can be submitted until 3 May.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>Research Service<\/span><\/a> is taking part in the conference “Careers Beyond Academia: Options and Pathways for Researchers” at the University of Oxford, UK.
