Editor: Hannah Kre\u00df<\/span><\/p>\n Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig, Delft University of Technology and the Institut Sup\u00e9rieur de l’A\u00e9ronautique et de l’Espace (ISAE-SUPAERO) in Toulouse <\/span>are further expanding their collaboration<\/span><\/a>. To this end, they have now signed a memorandum of understanding. Together, the three research institutions are developing solutions that will contribute to a more sustainable future for aviation.<\/span><\/p>\n How as much waste wood as possible can be recycled in the construction industry and kept in the material cycle is being investigated by the <\/span>Institute of Building Construction and Timber Structures<\/span><\/a>. The two research projects on resource-saving construction are funded by the German Agency for Renewable Resources (Fachagentur f\u00fcr Nachwachsende Rohstoffe e.V.) with a total of around 2.4 million Euros.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>picture of the month<\/span><\/a> shows a snapshot of a spark during the laser sintering of a ceramic solid-state electrolyte <\/span>\u2013<\/span> a promising concept for a new material to make lithium-ion batteries more powerful and safer.<\/span><\/p>\n What is racism, what is the difference between anti-racism and criticism of racism and what does this have to do with universities? The focus year \u201cRacism-critical university\u201d aims to shed light on this. An <\/span>interview<\/span><\/a> with speaker Jana Szeimies from the Diversity Coordination Office.<\/span><\/p>\n TU Braunschweig was successfully considered in the <\/span>first selection round of the Female Professorships Programme<\/span><\/a> (Professorinnenprogramm 2030),the central instrument for promoting gender equality. In the current phase, the federal and state governments are providing a total of 320 million euros.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>final result of the German Research Foundation’s review board election<\/span><\/a> has been announced. Congratulations to Professor Jochen Aberle from the Leichtwei\u00df Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Professor Melanie Brinkmann from the Institute of Genetics, who will take up their work in April. Many thanks also to the outgoing review board members of TU Braunschweig for their commitment!<\/span><\/p>\n As part of the Campus on Air course, students produced a <\/span>science podcast<\/span><\/a> on the topic of \u201canxiety\u201d. They spoke to experts and reported on what anxiety is and what can be done about it.<\/span><\/p>\n The networking event <\/span>\u201cTransformation gestalten\u201d<\/span><\/a>\u00a0 took place at the NFF on 28 February. More than 120 stakeholders from companies and training providers discussed the opportunities presented by transformation and presented their best practice solutions. The event was initiated by the continuing education network (Re)Shape, based at TU Braunschweig.<\/span><\/p>\n The motto of this year’s <\/span>TUmorrow Days<\/span><\/a> is \u201cSustainability in Action\u201d and will take place from 11 to 13 June. The Green Office invites institutions, initiatives and organisations at TU Braunschweig to actively participate in the Sustainability Days programme.<\/span><\/p>\n On Saturday, 9 March, not only the city cleaning day takes place, but also the <\/span>campus cleaning day<\/span><\/a> of the AStA cultural department and the ecology department. Everyone who wants to take part will meet at 11 a.m. in front of the AStA office to hand out bin bags and gloves. The successful garbage hunt will end at around 2.30 p.m. with a joint barbecue.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>International Teaching in Hybrid Spaces<\/span><\/a> event will take place on 7 March from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Architecture Pavilion, where international digital TU teaching projects will be presented. There will be space for discussion and information on funding, advice and support as well as qualification measures for all interested TU lecturers.<\/span><\/p>\n The DFG awards the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize to recognize scientists at an early stage in their careers and provide them with an incentive to continue their scientific work. In 2025, ten prizes will be awarded, each endowed with 200,000 euros. For TU Braunschweig, the nomination process is coordinated centrally by the <\/span>Research Service<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n A digital bouquet of flowers is presented by Sophia L\u00f6nnig from the Institute of Urban Water Management to the Legal Department, Division 11. She is grateful that her son had the opportunity to get to know the various departments as part of a student internship and for the open and friendly way in which his handicap was dealt with.<\/span><\/p>\n Successful support for young talents at the SE\u00b2A Cluster of Excellence! Our favorites of the week Katharina and Leon have won the <\/span>Jugend Forscht regional competition Braunschweig<\/span><\/a> in the technology category! The two students are taking part in the SE\u00b2A research club changING and have realized a project on electro-myostimulation of the musculature with the support of scientific staff from institutes of the Cluster of Excellence.
