\u25ba Welcome to TU Braunschweig<\/h3>\n

For the 11th time, first-year students will be welcomed at the Eintracht Stadium on Monday 23 October<\/a>. Afterwards, the information fair \u201cStudying is more\u201d will take place on the central campus. The weather forecast promises sunshine and 15 degrees!<\/p>\n

\u25ba TU team cycled at its best!<\/h3>\n

Once again, the TU team<\/a> set a new record for the number of kilometres cycled and the number of participants in this year’s city cycling event. In three weeks, the participants cycled 88,000 kilometres, setting an example for environmentally friendly mobility. No other team cycled more kilometres. Congratulations on 1st place!<\/p>\n

\u25ba Entering a new phase of life!<\/h3>\n

Not only the first-year students are starting a new phase of life<\/a>, but also our 24 new trainees and dual students. They were welcomed yesterday at an introductory event by President Angela Ittel and Training Coordinators Laura Hoffmann and Laura Behrens. Off to a good start and good luck!<\/p>\n

\u25ba Interesting Facts about Science Communication<\/h3>\n

Dr. Friederike Hendriks and the Junior Research Group \u201cfourC\u201d are researching how good science communication is done. In an interview<\/a>, she talks about the work of the junior research group and explains how communication can be trained.<\/p>\n

\u25ba TU for Future in the winter semester<\/h3>\n

The TU for Future lecture series<\/a> on topics such as climate protection, climate change and sustainability starts on 25 October. It starts with a lecture by Mari\u00e7a Rapior, Institute of Psychology, on the topic \u201cSustainability \u2013 What is it actually? Why do some people act more and others less sustainably? And how can we capture sustainable behaviour?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u25ba The bike sale is back for round 2!<\/h3>\n

If you are looking for a new bike<\/a>, you have a good chance of finding one next week on University Square. A bike sale will take place on 25 October between 12:00 and 15:00. There will be 80-100 old bikes on offer, which the Team Mobility Concept collected from the campus last summer.<\/p>\n

\u25ba A solution for gaps between buildings in the city centre<\/h3>\n

Wiebke Dittmann<\/a> is studying for her Master’s degree in Architecture and is focusing on gaps between buildings. As part of her studies, she has developed a creative micro-housing concept that provides a creative solution to closing gaps between buildings.<\/p>\n

\u25ba 10 years IIM<\/h3>\n

The <\/a>Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences<\/a> celebrated its 10th anniversary on 12 October. The celebration was an opportunity for the Institute to thank its staff and partners for their support.<\/p>\n

\u25ba New postdoc programme online<\/h3>\n

The postdoc programme for the winter term 2023\/24<\/a> is online. The programme includes sessions on leadership, career planning in science and business, and time and self management.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Queerness and Queering \u2013 in the university context<\/h3>\n

On 26 October, Dr. Antkek Engel, Director of the Queer Institute in Berlin, will give a lecture on queerness and queering<\/a> at the invitation of the Diversity Coordination Office as part of the focus year queer@TU.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Duke 2023 Nic ECO: Exploring Career Options<\/h3>\n

On 27 October, TU Braunschweig will be present with an online booth at Duke University<\/a> and will provide information about career opportunities in the field of sustainability.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Publications, research projects, prizes and patents<\/h3>\n

The TU Braunschweig plans to establish a research information system (FIS) as a central information platform for all research activities of its scientists by 2025. The project team invites everyone interested to a first online information session on 01 November 2023 at 11 am. Please find more Information on the FIS website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Call for Impact: Funding of impact projects for early-stage researchers<\/h3>\n

Young researchers and early career scientists can submit applications for research-based impact projects<\/a> until 1 December. Up to three projects will be funded with up to 1,500 euros for the calendar year 2024.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Election period for DFG Review Boards begins!<\/h3>\n

Elections for the DFG Review Boards<\/a>, which ensure the quality of peer review in the preparation of funding decisions, will begin on 23 October. Researchers can vote online until 20 November.<\/p>\n
