Yesterday, our student house won the German Architecture Award 2023<\/a>, the most important architecture prize in Germany! It was chosen for its sustainable and future-oriented design. Congratulations to the two architects, Gustav D\u00fcsing and Max Hacke, and to our building management team.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Summer Schools: An important instrument of internationalisation<\/h3>\n

The range of international Summer Schools<\/a> at TU Braunschweig as a special teaching format continues to grow! This summer, for the first time, the Cluster of Excellence SE\u00b2A offered a Summer School on sustainable aviation<\/a> together with the Association for the scientific development of ATM in Europe (ASDA).<\/p>\n

\u25ba With the rammed earth robot on the construction site<\/h3>\n

The Institute of Structural Design<\/a> (ITE) has developed an active formwork and a ramming tool that are operated robotically for the production of components made of rammed earth. In this way, the scientists combine forming and ramming in one process step. Now they want to create a robot unit that can be used directly on the construction site. In an interview, Joschua Gosslar<\/a> explains why he sees many answers for the construction industry in clay as a building material.<\/p>\n

\u25ba AI in the inclusive world of work<\/h3>\n

\u201cAI technologies can make the world of work more accessible and inclusive\u201d, says Prof. Jochen Steil<\/a> from the Institute of Robotics and Process Informatics. In our interview, he talks about possible applications and the challenges of designing an inclusive world of work.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Pioneering Research for the Future of Construction<\/h3>\n

The Collaborative Research Centre TRR 277 \u201cAdditive Manufacturing in Construction\u201d (AMC)<\/a> of TU Braunschweig and TU Munich invites you to the First Funding Period Closing Conference from 9 to 11 October in the Audimax. In addition to the presentation of research results, there will also be a lab tour: with visits to the labs of \u201cDigitale Baustelle\u201d, the \u201cDigital Building Fabrication Laboratory\u201d and \u201cMobile Robots\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Seed Funding for Projects with the Universities of Rhode Island and Strathclyde<\/h3>\n

Until 31 October, researchers and employees of TU Braunschweig can apply for the Seed Funding Programme<\/a> with the partner universities University of Rhode Island and University of Strathclyde. The projects from research or administration can be funded with up to 5,000 euros.<\/p>\n

Three professors of the Faculty of Life Sciences will give their inaugural lectures on 4 October<\/a>: Prof. Stephan Reichl \u201eVom Wirkstoff zum Arzneimittel \u2013 Alternativmethoden zum Tierversuch\u201c, Prof. Stephan Scherneck \u201eVom Wirkstoff zum Arzneimittel \u2013 Lehren von M\u00e4usen und Menschen\u201c, and Prof. Matthias Schiedel \u201eVom Wirkstoff zum Arzneimittel \u2013 Auf Schatzsuche im Reich der Molek\u00fcle\u201c.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Co_Workshops with public evenings (in German)<\/h3>\n

The participation process for the Co_Living Campus<\/a> enters its second round! During the five-day workshop, a group of 46 TU members and representatives of the urban community will intensively discuss the project themes. Interested parties are invited to attend keynote speeches and discussions on 10 and 11 October as well as the presentation of the results on 13 October.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Autumn Virtual Career Fair<\/h3>\n

On 2 October, the Research Service will visit the \u201cFall Virtual Career Fair\u201d<\/a> of Duke University and inform graduates of all faculties about their career and funding opportunities at TU Braunschweig.<\/p>\n

\u25ba USA fellowships for young researchers!<\/h3>\n

Until 1 November, young German scientists can apply to Fulbright Germany<\/a> for a 4- to 6-month fellowship in the USA.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Darling of the week<\/h3>\n

Our darling of the week is the \u201cClever nachgefragt!\u201d<\/a> podcast series on \u201cZero Waste\u201d from the Kinder-Uni, which went online yesterday. The podcast accompanies the lecture on 7 October and is aimed at anyone who is interested. Six TU scientists answer questions such as \u201cHow can we avoid waste?\u201d<\/p>\n
