\u25ba Welcome! First year students welcome in the stadium and information on campus<\/h3>\n

This year, TU Braunschweig will once again welcome all first-year students at the Eintracht Stadium. On 23 October at 9 a.m., a bilingual, diverse and international programme<\/a> awaits the new students. Afterwards, the information exchange will start on the central campus.<\/p>\n

\u25ba “Focusing even more on relationships with industry”<\/h3>\n

Prof. Thomas Spengler is responsible for “Industrial Networks & Business Strategies” on the board of the Battery LabFactory (BLB). In this short interview, he tells us what role industrial contacts and new business models<\/a> play for a research centre.<\/p>\n

\u25ba First foundations for design sugar<\/h3>\n

While proteins can now be specifically adapted as desired, sugar design is still a vision. In an international alliance, TU researchers together with the QuantumFrontiers cluster have now succeeded in taking a first step in this direction: the isolation of individual sugar molecules<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Finally, flying!<\/h3>\n

The DLR_Uni_Summer_School<\/a> once again brought together aviation students from all over Germany. They had the outstanding opportunity to put theoretical knowledge into practice during research flights. The Summer School is organised by the Institute of Flight Guidance together with DLR.<\/p>\n

\u2026 to Dr.-Ing. Clemens Krautwald<\/a>! He has been honoured with the \u201cCoastal Engineering Journal Award of 2022\u201d by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers. The scientist from the Leichtwei\u00df-Institut f\u00fcr Wasserbau (LWI) has investigated which forces act on coastal buildings during storm surges and how building standards need to be improved.<\/p>\n

In another episode of the “Future City Goes Global” series, Tom Rothe<\/a> takes us to Rio de Janeiro. The research assistant at the Institute of Mechanics and Adaptronics presented the results of his research in the Collaborative Research Centre “Additive Manufacturing in Construction” at a conference.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Schlaf \u2013 Schmerz \u2013 Stress<\/h3>\n

The cultures and technologies of biofeedback systems are being studied by Prof. Christian Kehrt<\/a> in a BMBF-funded joint project with the Otto-von-Guericke-University in Magdeburg. The project examines humanities, cultural studies and history in relation to biomonitoring and biofeedback, as well as the technical history of devices such as EEG and ECG.<\/p>\n

\u25ba About Rehabilitation in Post-Covid<\/h3>\n

… J\u00f6rg Heimsoth, Head of Therapy Management at the Oldenburg Rehabilitation Centre, will report in his lecture<\/a> on 11 October. The Corporate Health and Re-Integration Management cordially invites interested persons to attend the online lecture.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Remaining places for the Children’s University lecture “Zero Waste”<\/h3>\n

“How can plastic bottles be recycled?” Prof. Stephan Scholl, Institute of Chemical and Thermal Process Engineering, will explore this question in his lecture on 7 October at 10:30 in the Audimax. Online registration<\/a> of children between 8 and 12 years is still possible.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Current calls for proposals of the Gerda Henkel Foundation<\/h3>\n

The Foundation is offering the opportunity to apply for various funding opportunities<\/a> for research projects and research fellowships in the field of humanities and social sciences until 22 November 2023. Special focus is on the historical sciences.<\/p>\n

Taking time for each other \u2013 that was the motto of our darling of the week. For the third time, the employee gathering offered an atmospheric setting for a hundred randomly selected employees to get into conversation and exchange ideas.
