On 18 July, Professor Roman Henze and engineer Torben Hegerhorst presented the autonomous shuttle RAION<\/a>. The Lower Saxony Minister of Economics also gained insights into current research around vehicle concepts, intelligent vehicles, emission-free driving and the associated social transformation processes.<\/p>\n

… Johann Joachim Eschenburg. The last polymath was active at the Carolinum College for a total of 53 years and worked in all fields of science and the arts. Now a personality plaque<\/a> at the university library commemorates the probably most famous of the Braunschweig librarians.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Outstanding students from Bombay visited TU Braunschweig<\/h3>\n

For two and a half months, 17 students from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay<\/a> visited TU Braunschweig and gained a lot of new practical experience as research interns. An enriching exchange for both sides!<\/p>\n

\u25ba Mail from Israel<\/h3>\n

… comes from master’s student Ruth Glebe<\/a>. For five months, as part of a research internship at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, she conducted research on soil samples that can help create intelligent control of irrigation systems.<\/p>\n

\u25ba TU Braunschweig supports Lower Saxony-Japanese energy research<\/h3>\n

The Energy Research Centre Lower Saxony (EFZN) has been an associated supporter of the German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) in Tokyo since June 2023. The two TU scientists Prof. Mehtap \u00d6zaslan and Dr. Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Hasch\u00e9 played a key role in the cooperation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Yearbooks digitised<\/h3>\n

The Institute of Economics has digitalised a total of 100 volumes of the “Statistical Yearbook of German Municipalities” in cooperation with the University Library and the German Association of Cities. The digital copies are now freely accessible on the TU publication server<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba The International Entrepreneurship Summer School<\/h3>\n

… takes place from 4 to 8 September<\/a> and opens with a kick-off event on 27 August. It offers a practical online introduction to the world of entrepreneurship and start-up culture as well as the opportunity to further develop one’s own business idea in exchange. Free registrations are still possible.<\/p>\n

\u25ba New round of calls for proposals of the Philipp Schwartz Initiative<\/h3>\n

In the new round of calls<\/a>, higher education institutions can apply for funding to host researchers at risk. For further information, please contact Dr. Astrid Sebastian<\/a> from the Research Services Team.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Papers wanted<\/h3>\n

… for the Braunschweig Young Lecture Series<\/a> of Faculty 6. In the coming winter semester, the series is entitled “Activism – Between Urgency and Inflation”. Interested persons can submit their lecture proposals until 15 September.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Darling of the week<\/h3>\n

Four concerts, over 180 musicians and over 2500 concert visitors – the joint concerts of the TU Orchestra<\/a> and the TU Choir<\/a> were a complete success. All four concerts were completely sold out. Not only did the choir break the high score, but the thematic focus on video game music was also very well received by the audience.<\/p>\n
