\u25ba Shaping the future together<\/h3>\n

The Executive Board invited the professors to a summer reception on 5 July<\/a>. With snacks and musical accompaniment, the programme included getting to know each other, exchanging ideas and networking in the foyer of the Audimax. \u201cI was very pleased to be able to celebrate our first successes on this path together with the professors of the TU Braunschweig at the Summer Reception,\u201d said President Angela Ittel after the event.<\/p>\n

\u25ba New professorship links Fraunhofer IST and TU Braunschweig<\/h3>\n

Two new roles for Dr Sabrina Zellmer<\/a>: in April, she was appointed Professor of Battery and Fuel Cell Process Technology at TU Braunschweig and on 1 July she took over as Deputy Institute Director of Fraunhofer IST. Congratulations!<\/p>\n

\u25ba Welcome: Ingo Staack is professor at the Institute of Aircraft Design and Lightweight Construction<\/h3>\n

In May, Ingo Staack moved to TU Braunschweig after more than ten years at a Swedish university. He has many plans and brings a lot of enthusiasm with him. Read here<\/a> what he is researching and what motivates him.<\/p>\n

\u25ba When the university textbook is more comprehensible than the schoolbook<\/h3>\n

What influence does the comprehensibility of textbooks have on the particularly important goals of teaching \u2013 understanding and intrinsic motivation? The Institute of Educational Psychology<\/a> investigated this in an experiment.<\/p>\n

\u25ba CO_LIVING CAMPUS: Results of the first participation process<\/h3>\n

After the CO_NFERENCE, around 480 comments from around 200 participants were digitised and evaluated. Overall, there is a great interest in improving the campus and increasing the quality of living there. The evaluation<\/a> serves as a basis for further participation steps.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Zukunftswerkstatt at Staatstheater Braunschweig<\/h3>\n

The first Zukunftswerkstatt<\/a> of the Knowledge Transfer Team at the Transfer and Cooperation Office, which was organised in cooperation with the JUNGES! Staatstheater, dealt with cultural heritage in a diverse society. The group work method is an offer for co-creation with researchers and society stakeholders.<\/p>\n

\u25ba TU Braunschweig is “Erasmus Without Paper Champion\u201d<\/h3>\n

The award from the EU Commission<\/a> rewards the great commitment shown by TU Braunschweig in implementing the Erasmus+ digital administrative processes. Our congratulations to Francesco Ducatelli and his team in the Mobility Office of the International House!<\/p>\n

\u25ba Young Software Developers\u2019 Day<\/h3>\n

From Kicker-Eye to EnergyPredict: around 190 students of Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Computer and Communication Systems Engineering\u00a0 and Mathematics will present their semester projects on 20 July at the “Young Software Developers’ Day”<\/a> in the foyer of the Computer Science Centre.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Climate Conversation<\/h3>\n

The Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture and the City is inviting you to a Climate Conversation<\/a> on 19 July at the BDA Gallery in Braunschweig, as part of the DFG project “Architecture after Architecture”. The discussion will focus on the entanglement of climate and architecture and on possible futures. Participants include Professor J\u00fcrgen P. Kropp from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and Professor Gabu Heindl from the University of Kassel.<\/p>\n

\u25ba A brief cultural history of autonomous driving<\/h3>\n

At Niedersachsen Forschungszentrum Fahrzeugtechnik (NFF), visitors can currently embark on a journey through the history and visions of autonomous driving.The exhibition “A Brief Cultural History of Autonomous Driving<\/a>” runs until 28 July.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Application for DLR_Uni_Summer_School 2023<\/h3>\n

Students of aerospace engineering can apply for the DLR_Uni_Summer_School 2023<\/a> until 17 July (send an informal application with CV and grades to v.angermann@tu-bs.de<\/a>). Participants will put theoretical knowledge to the test during research flights and in the simulator.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Online Survey: Effects of Climate Change in Braunschweig<\/h3>\n

Where and how do you perceive the impacts of climate change in Braunschweig? This is what the City of Braunschweig, together with the Institute for Geoecology and the ISU – Institute for Sustainable Urbanism, would like to find out in an online survey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Study prizes for heritage conservation and archaeology<\/h3>\n

This year, the Nieders\u00e4chsische Sparkassenstiftung and the VGH Foundation are awarding study prizes for outstanding Master’s and doctoral theses in the fields of heritage conservation<\/a> and archaeology<\/a>. The deadline for applications is 06 November.<\/p>\n

\u25ba DFG-Fraunhofer Cooperation \u2013 Trilateral Knowledge Transfer Projects<\/h3>\n

The funding call<\/a> of the DFG-Fraunhofer Cooperation is aimed at trilateral transfer projects with a partner from a university\/HAW\/FH, a partner from a Fraunhofer institute and an application partner. The submission of draft proposals is possible until September 13.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Correction to the announcement “Special call for proposals: STIBET I and DAAD Prize 2024”<\/h3>\n

According to the DAAD application documents, only International Offices and other central institutions are eligible to apply for the STIBET I programme and the DAAD Prize 2024. The International House has been financing Welcome Weeks, excursions and workshops for international students through the STIBET programme for several years and will submit an application to the DAAD for TU Braunschweig again this year. For this reason, we ask that you refrain from submitting decentralised applications to the STIBET programme.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Darling of the week<\/h3>\n

Congratulations to this week’s darlings! Last Thursday, the training coordination team congratulated a total of 20 trainees<\/a> who had completed their training in the areas of laboratory, craft, IT and office. Suitably, TU Braunschweig was ranked number 1 in the public sector trainer ranking<\/a> between Harz and Heide. We would like to thank all the trainers and wish our young professionals all the best and are pleased that many of them will continue their careers at TU Braunschweig.<\/p>\n
