The Collaborative Research Centre TRR 277 Additive Manufacturing in Construction (AMC)<\/a> of TU Braunschweig and TU Munich will present its innovative research at BAU 2023, the leading trade fair for the construction industry, starting on 17 April. Using a variety of models, the innovative power of 3D printing for the construction industry will be demonstrated to visitors in a tangible and comprehensible way.<\/p>\n

In addition to several smaller models, such as a 3D-printed bridge, the scientists will be showing the “Tensegrity Tower” as a large demonstration object. The Tensegrity Tower consists of seemingly floating rods. The special feature are the 3D printed connecting elements, so-called nodes, which stabilise the tower through compressive and tensile loads. The nodes were produced using the 3D printing process Laser Power-Bed-Fusion. The fair’s “Tensegrity Tower” has a twin tower in the Deutsches Museum in Munich, where it is a permanent exhibit in the “Bridges and Hydraulic Engineering” section.<\/p>\n

The fair will be accompanied by AMC scientists who will explain the different projects of the AMC and their orientations. In addition to Janna Vollrath from TU Braunschweig, Johannes Diller, O\u011fuz \u00d6ztoprak, Gido Dielemans, Martin Slepicka, Ahmad Saleem Nouman, Birger Buschmann, Maximilian Dahlenburg, and Chao Li from TU Munich will be there.<\/p>\n

On April 18th, Professor Dirk Lowke will present a lecture entitled “Additive Fertigung im Bauwesen: Die Chance f\u00fcr gro\u00dfe Ver\u00e4nderungen”, wherein he will explain the AMC and the special potential that characterises 3D printing as a key technology for the digitalisation of the construction industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
