\u25ba New Collaborative Research Center on Aviation<\/h3>\n

Great news for TU Braunschweig! The DFG has approved the Collaborative Research Center\/Transregio \u201cSynTrac\u201d<\/a> on climate-neutral flying. The project \u201cSynergies of Highly Integrated Transport Aircraft\u201d under the leadership of our university together with the University of Stuttgart, the Leibniz University of Hanover and the DLR will initially be funded for three years and nine months from 1 October. The spokesperson of the SFB is Professor Sabine Langer from the Institute of Acoustics.<\/p>\n

\u25ba The TUmorrow Days<\/h3>\n

… are back and will bring a varied programme<\/a> on the topic of sustainability to the campus from 13 to 15 June. Registration for individual lectures and workshops is now open.<\/p>\n

\u25ba An opportunity for both sides<\/h3>\n

The two Ukrainian scientists<\/a> Dr. Olesia Zavarzina and Dr. Mariia Savchenko visited TU Braunschweig for the second time on a fellowship from the Volkswagen Foundation. With their expertise, they enrich the research of the Institute for Partial Differential Equations.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Among Palaces, Temples and Gangnam Style<\/h3>\n

In the second episode of \u201cFuture City Goes Global\u201d<\/a>, Dr Stefanie John, Professor R\u00fcdiger Heinze and Professor Eckart Voigts from the Institute of English and American Studies take us to South Korea. They were guests at Chungbuk National University to establish international collaborations.<\/p>\n

\u25ba A place of research in the middle of the forest<\/h3>\n

TU historian Daniel Jankowski has investigated the history of the research ground in Braunschweig-V\u00f6lkenrode in his new book \u201cEin Ort der Forschung\u201d (A Place of Research). In an interview<\/a>, he talks about his research in archives and why it is worth researching the history of research institutes in Braunschweig.<\/p>\n

\u25ba 25,000 euros for diabetic research<\/h3>\n

Congratulations to Professor Ingo Rustenbeck<\/a> from the Institute of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Clinical Pharmacy! He has been awarded the Hans Christian Hagedorn Project Grant of the German Diabetes Society for a joint project with the University Medical Centre Rostock.<\/p>\n

Dr. Kim Br\u00e4uer from the Institute of Sociology talks about how fathers see their role in the family today, why fatherhood is still not considered in many areas of life and why many companies engage in Fasther-Washing in the podcast of \u201cEchte Papas\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba How many word types does the German language have?<\/h3>\n

Professor Martin Neef from the Institute of German Studies, Department of Linguistics and Medieval Studies, presents a path through the variety of possible approaches to the concept of word types in his new book \u201cWortart\u201d<\/a>. The volume, published in the series \u201cKurze Einf\u00fchrungen in die germanistische Linguistik\u201d, is aimed at students and teachers.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Science Communication Training<\/h3>\n

The Junior Research Group fourC invites Master’s students in the natural and technical sciences to a science communication training course. Strategies will be taught to communicate complex, scientific content in an understandable and interesting way. Please spread the word! \u25ba Workshop 30 ECTS English-language teaching in the Project House<\/h3>\n

English-language teaching<\/a> teaching is to be integrated into all degree programmes by 2025. All those involved in the conversion process are cordially invited to the next meeting on 6 June. Bernt Erlewein, Head of GB1, will explain the legal framework of the conversion.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Darling of the week<\/h3>\n

From green to colourful! On 30 May, dedicated hobby gardeners from TU Braunschweig will take up their spades between 11:00 and 18:00 to plant a \u201cwildflower meadow on campus\u201d<\/a> in front of the old building. Part of the green lawn in front of the old building will become a paradise for bees, butterflies and other insects. Hobby gardeners and those who want to become one can simply drop by and join in.
