\u25ba Plans for a university and innovation campus in Wolfsburg<\/h3>\n

Wolfsburg offers the best conditions for a new type of university and innovation campus for TU Braunschweig. Building on the successes of the Open Hybrid LabFactory (OHLF), the location is being developed into a fully-fledged campus with research, teaching, transfer and further education<\/a> together with the Volkswagen Group, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Completely new architecture, concepts and software for driverless vehicles<\/h3>\n

After five years of work, eight universities presented the big hit to the public on 11 May: four fully autonomous vehicle prototypes in the UNICARagil<\/a> project show how future mobility can succeed. The family vehicle autoELF, which was developed at TU Braunschweig, was also part of the project.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Hirschvogel Prize for Best Dissertation in Mechanical Engineering<\/h3>\n

Christopher Blech was awarded<\/a> for a newly developed methodology for acoustic design. His methodology has set a new standard in aviation, but is also already being used in the design of other modes of transport and in building acoustics. Congratulations!<\/p>\n

\u25ba How students want to optimise the therapy of a mental illness<\/h3>\n

Lithium compounds are used as mood stabilisers in patients with bipolar disorder. However, the blood concentration must be checked regularly. The Braunschweig iGEM team<\/a> is therefore looking for a simple, home-based test system to assess lithium levels.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Future City Goes Global<\/h3>\n

In the new series, scientists from the Core Research Area “Future City” take us to cities around the world, show differences and similarities and report on planned research collaborations. Bartek Sawicki<\/a> from the Institute of Structural Design starts the series.<\/p>\n

\u25ba We are rethinking campus<\/h3>\n

With the CoLiving Campus, our university, together with the city of Braunschweig, is developing a unique science quarter on the North Campus that brings together communal living, learning, research and working. \u25ba Trans Urban X<\/h3>\n

With an exciting series of events<\/a>, the Institute for Architecture-Related Art continues its cooperation with the HBK in June and July. On Braunschweig’s Herzogin-Anna-Amalia-Platz, their Schoduvel floats will become a cinema, stage, printing workshop, sound sculpture or even seminar room.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Very close to space<\/h3>\n

… can come to students who choose the new English-language Master’s programme “Solar System Physics”<\/a> from the coming winter semester. The focus is on the solar system with its planets, all of which can be reached by missions. TU is involved in many missions and the findings flow directly into teaching.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Congratulations<\/h3>\n

… to Janosch Baumgarten and Moritz Zimmermann. The PhD students at the Institute of Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry<\/a> were awarded a poster prize at the International Helmholtz Drug Discovery Conference HDDC 2023. Based on three-dimensional computer models, the two researchers are developing substances that combat the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa.<\/p>\n

… also to Miriam Klages and Marlene Kohlsaat. The psychology students took part in the hackathon<\/a> of the Lower Saxony state initiative Generationally Just Everyday Life and came in first and third place here.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Communicating experiences in international teaching<\/h3>\n

How can concepts from international teaching be disseminated more widely? How can synergy effects be harnessed? The ProDiGI<\/a> project would like to invite all academic staff to exchange views on these topics in a round-table discussion<\/a> on 23 May.<\/p>\n
