Two special Senate meetings took place on 15 March: The last meeting of the current Senate and the inaugural meeting of the new Senate. A short review<\/a> of the challenges of the Senate in the last two years and an outlook on the topics of the new Senate.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Supporters wanted!<\/h3>\n

The Ukrainian scientist Svitlana Trotska<\/a> has recently joined the Junior Research Group “Isodrones”, financed by a six month scholarship from project funds. To employ her beyond that, Dr Matthias Beyer is asking for support in his search for further funding.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Digital Town Hall: IT Security and WissZeitVG<\/h3>\n

President Angela Ittel invites you to two Digital Town Halls<\/a> in May: On 2 May, Angela Ittel and Christian B\u00f6ttger (CISO) will present the status and challenges of IT security at TU Braunschweig. On 11 May, we will discuss possible changes to the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (Act on Temporary Scientific Contracts) and their impact on our university with the President.<\/p>\n

\u25ba OHLF: Minister of Science informs himself in Wolfsburg about Circular Economy<\/h3>\n

The Lower Saxony Minister for Science and Culture, Falko Mohrs, President Angela Ittel, as well as Wolfsburg’s mayor Dennis Weilmann and other decision-makers came to Wolfsburg. Here they were able to get a personal impression of the further development of the OHLF Research Campus<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Horizon Europe project: High-precision navigation for city dwellers<\/h3>\n

The EU project “egeniouss”<\/a> takes apps for navigation and positioning in urban areas to the next level, e.g. for cyclists, professional surveys, drones and autonomous vehicles. TU Braunschweig is involved with the Institute of Flight Guidance and the Institute of Geodesy and Photogrammetry.<\/p>\n

\u25ba TransferHub: Saving energy with university impulses<\/h3>\n

How can companies save energy with innovations from universities?<\/a> The TransferHub of Ostfalia and TU Braunschweig invited companies from the region to discuss this topic. With a guided tour of the modified cooling system, the TU refectory became a practical example of energy efficiency.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Complex animal test replacement systems<\/h3>\n

Test systems based on cell cultures and artificial tissues as animal test replacement methods are becoming increasingly important in research. Researchers at TU Braunschweig and the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover are working on a corresponding chip platform<\/a> under the leadership of the Hannover Medical School.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Talking about feelings<\/h3>\n

How language support can be integrated into lessons or after-school care is being researched by the Institute for Educational Sciences<\/a>. Together with researchers from L\u00fcneburg and Kassel, they are developing a training course for educational professionals. The focus is on talking about feelings.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Starting signal for interdisciplinary research collaborations<\/h3>\n

The first round of the “Interdisciplinary Collaboration” funding programme<\/a> was successful: eight interdisciplinary projects are being funded with up to 15,000 euros. The aim of the funding is to encourage interdisciplinary collaborations.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Driving internationalisation forward together<\/h3>\n

As part of the Re-Audit\u00b2, the Project House and the International House organised two workshops<\/a> to specifically promote and expand internationalisation efforts. Together with participants from all status groups of TU Braunschweig, steps were identified that can be tackled quickly and at a low level.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Welcome Week for international students<\/h3>\n

From 3 April, TU Braunschweig will once again welcome its new international students in a Welcome Week<\/a>. A new constituent in this semester are special offers for Chinese students in cooperation with the Association of Chinese Students and Scientists Braunschweig.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Excellent appointment negotiations<\/h3>\n

TU Braunschweig has been awarded the DHV seal of approval<\/a> for fair and transparent appointment negotiations. The award, which is valid for five years, is currently held by 20 other universities in Germany.<\/p>\n

\u25ba New programme of the Teaching and Media Education Team in the summer semester<\/h3>\n

For teachers and students, the Teaching and Media Education Team offers new, diverse opportunities for qualification as well as advice and guidance along various teaching-learning settings. Registration for the team’s offers<\/a> is now possible.<\/p>\n

\u25ba New TYPO3 mailing list<\/h3>\n

The TYPO3 team has set up a new mailing list<\/a> for all TYPO3 users and people interested in TYPO3. Members of the list will be informed by mail about important news, updates and downtimes concerning the CMS.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Award for young researchers<\/h3>\n

The Federal Statistical Office awards the Young Scientists Prize 2023<\/a> for dissertations as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s theses. The deadline for applications is 15 May.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Cycling jerseys in TU design<\/h3>\n

There are many cyclists at TU \u2013 and therefore TU cycling jerseys will be available soon! Interested parties can find out more about design, individual sizes, fitting options and ordering here<\/a>. Participation in the first order is possible until 12 April.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Darling of the week<\/h3>\n

Our darling of the week is the Language Centre’s new language tandem<\/a> offer for TU Braunschweig employees.
