On 10 November, the next date of the new dialogue formats with President Angela Ittel will take place with the Digital Town Hall<\/a>. In the next edition, all employees and students are cordially invited to talk to the president about the effects of the energy crisis on our university and corresponding cost-cutting measures.<\/p>\n

\u25ba TransferHub launches digital marketplace<\/h3>\n

The new virtual marketplace<\/a> is an uncomplicated platform for all companies, start-ups, research institutions and universities in the region: with requests and offers for equipment, know-how, partners, software or experts, for example.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Innovative participation<\/h3>\n

The research project “InnoPart” dealt with the development of modern citizen participation approaches for large-scale infrastructure projects. The Institute of Geodesy and Photogrammetry and the Institute of Comparative Politics and Public Policy were also involved. On 9 November, a final presentation will take place on Webex<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Aviation: Alternative engines and avoidance of pollutants<\/h3>\n

On 9 November, the Aeronautics Research Centre Niedersachsen will hold its NFL Research Day<\/a> as a hybrid event. The programme under the motto “Pollutants in Aviation” includes lectures and the presentation of the NFL awards.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Globalization and Illicit Trade<\/h3>\n

The COST network “Globalization, Illicit Trade, Sustainability and Security”<\/a> (GLITSS) has now started with researchers from more than 20 countries. The topics: forms of illicit trade and associated problems as well as political options for combating illegal trade and smuggling. Professor Anja Jakobi is a co-applicant and representative for Germany in the network.<\/p>\n

\u25ba A good drop of science<\/h3>\n

The current picture of the month<\/a> not only shows the simulation of a falling concrete drop at the Institute for Computational Modeling in Civil Engineering (IRMB) but also science in the making. In fact, the image shown is only an intermediate step on the way to a physically correct simulation and initially focuses solely on the difference in density between the drop and the air.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Congratulations<\/h3>\n

… to Professor Matthias Tamm. The head of the Institute of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry was awarded the Rudolf Criegee Lecture<\/a> of the Society of German Chemists and the Romanian Academy of Sciences. He also received a visiting professorship from the Lady Davis Fellowship<\/a>, which will take him to the Technion in Haifa, Israel, in 2023.<\/p>\n

\u25ba New AStA board in the winter semester 2022\/23<\/h3>\n

Since 1 October the board of the AStA<\/a> has been newly elected. In the upcoming semester the student body will be represented by Timon Justi, Katharina Wilbrandt, Adrian Brozek, Luca Kienel and Nele Schnars.<\/p>\n

\u25ba University elections in the winter semester 2022\/23<\/h3>\n

The university elections<\/a> in the winter semester 2022\/23 will take place on 20 January via online voting. All status groups of the TU Braunschweig are called to vote.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Results of the user survey<\/h3>\n

In summer, the information portal team conducted a user survey on the usage behaviour of the information portal. The results of the survey will be presented to all interested users at a Webex meeting<\/a> on 10 November.<\/p>\n

\u25ba M\u00fchlenpfordt \u2013 Neue Zeitkunst<\/h3>\n

The exhibition<\/a> on the prehistory of the “Braunschweig (Architecture) School” featuring Carl M\u00fchlenpfordt’s formative buildings in the vicinity of TU Braunschweig opens on 9 November in the Architecture Pavilion.<\/p>\n

\u25ba How do WE! want to live?<\/h3>\n

On 8 and 15 November, a two-part lecture<\/a> event will be held in the auditorium of the Haus der Wissenschaft to explore the question of how schools and society can counter religious extremism and antisemitism. Please register by email<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba New KNOW MORE events<\/h3>\n

There will be two events<\/a> as part of the awareness campaign against sexualized violence this month. The online lecture on 10 November is about digital gender-based violence and presents action strategies against it. Furthermore, there will be a workshop against (everyday) sexism on 17 November; registration via email<\/a> is possible until 9 November.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Start Seedfunding Interdisciplinary Collaboration<\/h3>\n

Under the motto “Strengthening Interdisciplinarity \u2013 Extending Research Collaborations”, TU Braunschweig will fund interdisciplinary research projects. A matchmaking workshop<\/a> will take place on 16 December, for which interested parties can submit short profiles by 9 December.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Horizon Europe Calls for Proposals 2023\/24<\/h3>\n

The draft Horizon Europe calls for proposals for the years 2023 and 2024 have been published and can be viewed online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Darling of the week<\/h3>\n

For some it is waste, for the team of the Institute of Architecture-Related Art it is a resource from which new things are created: for example, an installation<\/a> is now being created from around 5,000 old beverage cartons. 160 architecture students are dismantling the material and reassembling it in braids.
