\u25ba Saving energy in battery research<\/h3>\n

Thanks to work by Marcus Vogt, the Battery LabFactory Braunschweig (BLB) was able to reduce the energy consumption of the drying room by more than 20 percent. He answers how he achieved this and what motivated him in the interview<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Hybrid teaching<\/h3>\n

To further strengthen the digital teaching infrastructure<\/a>, the Gauss IT Centre, Facilities Management and the Project House are equipping lecture halls with hybrid technology on behalf of the Executive Board. On the main campus, numerous lecture halls have already been completed for the start of the semester. Others on the North and East Campuses will follow soon.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Expedition Himalaya<\/h3>\n

Scientists from the Research Training Group TransTiP want to learn more about the climate and biodiversity of Lake Gosainkunda in Nepal. Together with researchers from Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, they have now sampled the high-altitude lake. Dr Katharina Dulias from the Institute of Geosystems and Bioindication reports on the 14-day research trip<\/a>.<\/p>\n

40 years after graduating in mechanical engineering, Professor Rainald L\u00f6hner<\/a> from George Mason University (USA) is coming to TU Braunschweig with a visiting professorship. Together with Professor Roland W\u00fcchner, head of the Institute of Structural Analysis, he plans to collaborate on simulation software as well as long-term research cooperation..<\/p>\n

This time in the “Role Models”<\/a> project, Prof. Katja Koch, Vice President for Organisational Development and Teacher Training, reports on her experiences as a First Generation academic. She talks about proud parents and new opportunities, but also about hurdles on the academic career path.<\/p>\n

\u25ba TU for Future<\/h3>\n

The lecture series on climate protection<\/a> starts on 26 October with a lecture by Professor J\u00fcrgen Kuck entitled \u201cThere is no planet D\u201d. The event, which will be held in the Audimax, will be livestreamed on YouTube.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Career mentoring for scientists in early career phases<\/h3>\n

Since 2021, TU Braunschweig has offered 1:1 mentoring<\/a>, especially for junior professors, tenure-track professors and postdocs. Professor Boas Pucker reported on his experiences<\/a> with the programme, which is open to new applications.<\/p>\n
