The corona virus will continue to affect campus life in the winter semester. The new Infection Protection Act provides for three levels of infection protection. The TU Braunschweig couples its protective measures<\/a>, in particular the mask obligation, to the level of the state valid in the city area.<\/p>\n

\u25ba “Circular battery cell production” learning factory<\/h3>\n

A new training centre<\/a> will teach all process steps of battery production to future specialists and scientists in an application-oriented manner. The BMBF is funding the construction with 3.7 million euros.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Promoting young talent with flight experiments and simulator flights<\/h3>\n

After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the DLR_Uni_Summer_School<\/a> was held again in Braunschweig. Students from all over Germany had the opportunity to experience the knowledge they had previously acquired in theory in practice during research flights.<\/p>\n

… to the team of the project “FLOWall”! The scientists from the Institute of Structural Design and the University of Bologna wins the “Iconic Award 2022: Innovative Architecture”<\/a>. They convinced with their concept to use digital technologies for the design of urban coastal protection structures.<\/p>\n

Dr Michael Strohbach from the Institute of Geoecology is currently investigating human-wildlife interactions in settlements, using coyotes on Rhode Island<\/a> as an example. His research data should help to improve the coexistence of humans and coyotes.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Artificial Intelligence \u2013 Intelligent Art?<\/h3>\n

From 7 to 9 October, the transdisciplinary final conference<\/a> of the project “From Avant-garde to Algorithm” will focus on human-machine interaction and creative practice. Registration for the bilingual conference is still possible.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Orientation study programme ends<\/h3>\n

77 participants in the current class took advantage of the opportunity to try out studying for two semesters and find out which degree programme suits them. After four rounds, the orientation programme<\/a> came to an end in the summer semester.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Translational Research and Medicine<\/h3>\n

In autumn, the Translational Alliance in Lower Saxony TRAIN<\/a> will start a new year of the part-time continuing education programme \u201cTranslational Research & Medicine: From Idea to Product\u201d. The kick-off event will take place on 6 October.<\/p>\n

\u25ba New courses in Workplace Health Promotion<\/h3>\n

The start of the winter semester also marks the beginning of the new courses in workplace health promotion<\/a>. From 10 October, interested persons can register online for the diverse range of courses and seminars.<\/p>\n

\u25ba New contact persons: BEM and AGG Complaints Office<\/h3>\n

As of 1 October, Ina von Zelewski, Department 13 – Professional and Personal Development<\/a>, will take over the tasks of Corporate Integration Management (BEM). The tasks of the complaints office according to the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) will be carried out by Marie Kilian in Department 11 – Legal Office<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Digital bouquet for Prof. Maike Loo\u00df<\/h3>\n

Prof. Maike Loo\u00df is retiring on 1 October. The Schule-Uni AG and the Institute of Plant Biology would like to thank her most sincerely for setting up and managing the Green School<\/a> in the Botanical Garden as an extracurricular place of learning and for her work on the board of the Schule-Uni AG<\/a>.<\/p>\n
