Photo credit: Sandro Schulze\/ TU Braunschweig<\/p>\n  \n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<p>The project &#8220;HANS &#8211; Homework Submission Management System&#8221; convinced the jury the most. The team supervised by the Algorithms Department at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de\/?lang=en\">Institute of Operating Systems and Computer Networks<\/a> took first place. In this project, the students developed a web application via which students can submit their homework, receive feedback and also track their achieved points in the course of the semester. Tutors can also use the application to manage homework and exercise groups.<\/p>\n<p>Second place went to the project &#8220;AIM &#8211; AI Agent for the Soccer League&#8221; by students from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rob.cs.tu-bs.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institute of Robotics and Process Control<\/a>. The team designed and developed an artificial intelligence (AI) for a 2D simulation of the RoboCup, which is able to compete against other teams in a football simulation.<\/p>\n<p>Third place is shared by two projects: In the project &#8220;StudyBuddy&#8221; from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tu-braunschweig.de\/en\/wi2\">Institute of Business Information Systems<\/a> (Department of Information Management), the students developed an AI-based chatbot that supports learners with targeted commands and messages. In the project &#8220;clickML&#8221; from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tu-braunschweig.de\/en\/sec\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institute for System Security<\/a>, the team has developed a graphical language that allows users with little programming experience to create their own machine learning software (ML-based system) in a kind of modular system.<\/p>\n<h3>The Software Engineering Laboratory<\/h3>\n<p>During this year&#8217;s Software Engineering Laboratory, around 150 students from 13 institutes worked on 21 different projects and learned how to develop complex software systems in a practical way. They were accompanied by the respective institutes from the planning to the development to the completion and testing of the products.
