\u25ba Braunschweig Citizens’ Prize<\/h3>\n

Last week, ten students received the “Braunschweiger B\u00fcrgerpreis<\/a>” for their outstanding academic achievements and special engagement. A total of 15,000 euros was distributed to the prize winners. Four needy students were supported with a further 5,000 euros.<\/p>\n

\u25ba BRICS and PTB decide on cooperation<\/h3>\n

The cooperation focuses on standardisation in the biomedical field: globally valid, objective standards for quantitative measurements<\/a>, such as in insulin therapy and cholesterol diagnosis, are to be researched.<\/p>\n

\u25ba A warm welcome<\/h3>\n

We welcome Prof. Michael Heere<\/a>. He has been a junior professor since March and does research on fuel cells. His favourite quote: ‘Don’t fight what you hate, save what you love’ from Star Wars. Accordingly, he and his team want to fight to ensure that there will be many solutions for climate-neutral mobility in the future to mitigate climate change.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Congratulations<\/h3>\n

With Dr Oliver Blume<\/a>, a man from Braunschweig becomes the new VW Chairman of the Board. He laid the foundation for his career with his studies in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Since 2019, he has also shown his solidarity with TU Braunschweig as a member of our university council.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Understanding and treating diseases<\/h3>\n

… is the goal of the Core Research Area \u201cInfection and Therapeutics\u201d. The projects presented themselves at a poster marketplace and gave an overview of the wide range of research<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Paper-free psychotherapy outpatient clinic<\/h3>\n

For reasons of sustainability, the annual report for the educational and higher education outpatient clinic for adults at TU Braunschweig is now available as a blog<\/a>. In future, a newsletter will highlight new developments and research results twice a year.<\/p>\n

\u25ba ERC Grant Application Workshop<\/h3>\n

With a workshop<\/a> on September 12, the Research Services and European Office encourage scientists of all research areas to apply for funding provided by the European Research Council (ERC).<\/p>\n

\u25ba Goodbye Cloudstorage – Hello Nextcloud<\/h3>\n

The Gauss IT Centre is transferring the cloud storage system to the Nextcloud platform from 12 to 15 August. It will not be possible to use the system during this period. More information about the changeover on the GITZ instruction wiki<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Help with breakdowns<\/h3>\n

…are provided by two new bicycle repair stations<\/a> at the airport and Mensa 2, as well as a stationary air pump at the North Campus. This was made possible financially by the Mechanical Engineering Student Council and the proceeds from the bicycle auction held by Division 3.<\/p>\n
