In the new video<\/a> of the International House, PhD student Irina Ihnatenko from the Institute of Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Bachelor student Ihor Filatov present TU Braunschweig’s support services for refugee students and researchers from Ukraine in Ukrainian and Russian.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Communicate internally \u2013 impact externally<\/h3>\n

In her new Spotlight<\/a>, President Prof. Dr. Angela Ittel addresses the topic of internal communication and the role it plays in external communication. Among other things, she discusses why transparency is so important and how internal communication can be supported institutionally.<\/p>\n

\u25ba The President’s personal office hours<\/h3>\n

Taking up the topic of the Spotlight, the President is starting a new communication format in order to engage in an even more direct, low-threshold and trustful exchange with employees and students of the TU: a personal office hour with the President<\/a>. The first consultation hour will take place on April 25.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Change to SLUB<\/h3>\n

After more than eight years as Director of the University Library of TU Braunschweig, Katrin Stump is moving to the Saxon State and University Library Dresden, where she will take over as Director General on May 1. The TU’s Governance Board wishes Katrin Stump all the best for her new position and thanks her for her great commitment at our university.<\/p>\n

\u25ba “Flexibles Arbeiten” project extended<\/h3>\n

The “Flexibles Arbeiten” project will be extended until June 30 this year. This allows employees of TU Braunschweig to spend up to 30 percent of their individual weekly working time on mobile work for a further three months after consultation with the respective manager.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Prof. Manfred Krafczyk appointed to European panel for digital transformation<\/h3>\n

TU Braunschweig’s Vice President for Digitalization and Technology Transfer has been appointed to the EUA Steering Committee for Digital Transformation<\/a>. The committee is to provide strategic support for the digital transformation at European universities.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Intel inside<\/h3>\n

Intel is building a mega-factory in Magdeburg for 17 billion euros. In an interview, Prof. Vadim Issakov<\/a>, former Intel developer, explains what the project means for our university.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Infection prevention through architecture<\/h3>\n

In an interview, Dr Wolfgang Sunder<\/a> reports on how clever spatial planning can help prevent infections. He also tells us about the challenges the Institute of Construction Design, Industrial and Health Care Building at TU Braunschweig is facing in projects in Rwanda.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Funding worth nearly 2 million euros for project on machine learning<\/h3>\n

To support his research on machine learning, Professor Konrad Rieck of the Institute of System Security has been granted one of the Consolidator Grants<\/a> of the European Research Council (ERC), one of the most prestigious awards given to researchers in Europe.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Biotechnologists win international animal welfare award<\/h3>\n

The Abcalis GmbH team in the biotechnology department was awarded<\/a> the 10,000 euro ECEAE prize for non-animal antibodies. The European Coalition to End Animal Experiments aims to raise awareness of the benefits of non-animal antibodies for research or medical purposes with the prize.<\/p>\n

\u25ba The beauty of theory and its application<\/h3>\n

Mathematics and music: these are Benedikt Jahnel\u2018s two great passions. In April he will start work as a professor for applied stochastics at TU Braunschweig. Jahnel wants to inspire students with the beauty of theory and its applications, as he has told us in our interview<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Soon: Driverless trucks on the road<\/h3>\n

Partners from the vehicle industry, software development, scientific research and administration are joining forces to bring autonomous trucks to the highway. This could be around 2025. In the ATLAS-L4 project<\/a>, the Institute of Control Engineering is focusing on the risk and safety of these systems.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Picture of the Month: ECG T-Shirts<\/h3>\n

Our picture of the month of April<\/a> shows a piece of fabric, which measures about four by two centimetres and can be found in various places on the inside of a so-called ECG T-shirt. It is used to measure an electrocardiogram (ECG) without the patients noticing anything. The Peter L. Reichertz Institute for Medical Informatics is using this to research the future of health monitoring.<\/p>\n

Tidied up, restructured and updated. On our recently relaunched website<\/a> you will now find useful information and helpful tips on corporate design, press information, image rights, social media and more in an even simpler and easier way. The special feature: We have adapted the structure of the site to our target groups and have bundled relevant topics for all interested parties, researchers, employees and so on on separate sub-pages.<\/p>\n

Ina v.
