to Professor Corinna Bath<\/a>! The Graz University of Technology is awarding her an honorary doctorate. Professor Bath, who holds the Maria Goeppert-Mayer Professorship for “Gender, Technology and Mobility”, receives the award in recognition of “her outstanding scientific achievements in the field of gender research and its integration into the technical sciences”.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Professor Antje Schwalb again in the BGR Board of Trustees<\/h3>\n

The Head of University Controlling, Rita Westphal, is moving to Christian-Albrechts-Universit\u00e4t zu Kiel, where she will take over the Finance and Reporting Division. After 3.5 years she is leaving the TU Braunschweig on 31 March. She says goodbye in an open letter<\/a> and thanks us for the trusting and constructive cooperation.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Living with Yak Herders in Tibet<\/h3>\n

PhD student Siran Liang<\/a> from the Institute for Geosystems and Bioindication spent four months in a Tibetan village for her research. As part of the TransTiP Research Training Group, she is investigating, among other things, how yak herders experience climate change. She will be reporting on the “Deep Hanging Out” in a logbook in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Hydrogen and robots in agriculture<\/h3>\n

“Spot farming” focuses on the individual plant, which is supplied as optimally as possible with the help of autonomous field robots. This concept has now been awarded the DLG Agrifuture Concept<\/a>. A second DLG award went to the “H2Agrar” project, in which prototypes of a hydrogen-powered tractor are being developed.<\/p>\n

The SpACE Lab at ISU \u2013 Institute for Sustainable Urbanism jointly with the College of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University invites to the \u201cSino-German Symposium Low Carbon Communities Shanghai 2022\u201d<\/a>. Challenges and opportunities of carbon-neutral urban development in Shanghai and the broader context of future cities in China and Germany will be discussed.<\/p>\n
