On <\/span>15 and 16 February<\/span><\/a>, the car parks as well as the access road in the area of the BS4\/Informatics Centre and the south tower of the M\u00fchlenpfordthaus on the banks of the Oker will be closed. The reason is crane work due to the delivery of a switchgear station of the elenia Institute for High Voltage Technology and Power Systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba “International Day of Women and Girls in Science”<\/h3>\n

Today, 11 February, is the annual Day of Women in Science. It recognises the role that girls and women play in science and technology. For a glance at the situation of female professors, the Equal Opportunities Office recommends the publication <\/span>“Beyond the Glass Ceiling. Female Professors between Recognition and Marginalisation”<\/span><\/a> and the film “<\/span>Picture a Scientist – Women in Science<\/span><\/a>” (USA, 2020). The documentary portrays three careers and addresses discrimination, sexism and racism in science.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Sustainability working group is looking for participants<\/h3>\n

\u25ba Protection against highly infectious pathogens<\/h3>\n

In the “EFFO-CoE” project funded by the Federal Ministry of Health, the <\/span>Institute of Construction Design, Industrial and Health Care Building<\/span><\/a> is establishing a Centre of Excellence in Rwanda together with the Robert Koch Institute, the Charit\u00e9 Berlin, the Medical Mission Institute W\u00fcrzburg and the Rwanda Biomedical Centre. This will serve as a special isolation station and training centre.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba In Danger: Natural balance in troposphere<\/h3>\n

The Institute of Flight Guidance has participated in a research series in which researchers in Singapore have studied <\/span>microorganisms in the lower atmosphere<\/span><\/a>. The results indicate that populations of bacteria and fungal spores are disrupted by global warming.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba First evaluation of the Arctic expedition<\/h3>\n

A complete picture of climate processes in the central Arctic is now provided by data from the international MOSAiC expedition. A team from the TU Braunschweig also collected extensive data with the <\/span>helicopter towed probe HELiPOD<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Managing and shaping change<\/h3>\n

Exciting ideas for the future design of studying and teaching as well as strategies to transfer them into reality were discussed by experts at the digital “<\/span>Let’s talk: Teaching strategies – culture and change in studying and teaching<\/span><\/a>” at the invitation of the Governance Board and the Project House.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the special “Digital Innovations in the Humanities and Social Sciences”, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research presents the online exhibition of the collaborative project <\/span>“MIKROBIB” – Contamination and Legibility of the World: Articulating Microbes in Collections<\/span><\/a>. Project leader was Professor Nicole C. Karafyllis. In the interview, the project partners talk about their work.<\/span><\/p>\n

TU Braunschweig presents itself at the <\/span>annual recruiting fair<\/span><\/a> of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on February 17. The event offers interested graduates current job offers and funding opportunities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
